Concerning your source links. In the first link they give no evidence to support their statement “During the First Century the primitive Christians did not dwell on matters of eschatology, but devoted their attention to apologetics; they were chiefly anxious to establish the fact of Christ's advent, and of its blessings to the world.” What 1st century writings do we have other than the scriptures and apocryphal writings which are from unknown authors? How can this person possibly claim to know the teachings of the church if not thru their writings. We do know that Origen was refuted by the 5th ecumenical council and his universalism ideas were deemed as heresy by the church. Quoting the works of people that were refuted by the church doesn’t provide any evidence that these were taught by the church. It only shows that some people in the church made errors. Augustine also made many errors. His writings “On Lying and Against Lying” obviously didn’t take Rahab into consideration who is considered as one of the most righteous people for lying to save the Israelite spies. He so humbly wrote this quote”
“And yet, I would not want anyone to embrace all my views in order to be my follower, but only those points on which he sees that I am not mistaken. […] I have not always held the same views, rather, I think that, as I wrote, I made progress by the mercy of God, but not that I have started off with perfection. […] We can, of course, have good hope for someone if the last day of this life finds him making progress.” (On the Gift of Perseverance, XXI, 55)“
Neither Origen nor Augustine represented the authority of the ecumenical council which has refuted universalism since the 5th century.
