    What Is Christian Universalism?

    "Any true definition of Christian Universalism MUST INCLUDE THE BELIEF that God is all Sovereign, loving, powerful, wise, just, and ultimately rules over everything. It MUST ALSO INCLUDE the belief that salvation is only by faith in God and was finalized by Jesus Christ "who gave Himself a ransom for all" (1 Tim 2:6). The definition of Christian Universalism DOES INCLUDE THE BELIEF that God "will have all men to be saved and come to a knowledge of the truth" (1 Tim. 2:4)."

    Only those who obey the Gospel will be saved.

    • in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God, and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.

    3 We are bound to thank God always for you, brethren, as it is fitting, because your faith grows exceedingly, and the love of every one of you all abounds toward each other, 4 so that we ourselves boast of you among the churches of God for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and a the tribulations that you endure, 5 which is evidence of the righteous judgment of God, that you may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which you also suffer; 6 since it is a righteous thing with God to repay with tribulation those who trouble you, 7 and to give you who are troubled rest with us when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with His mighty angels, 8 in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God, and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 These shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power, 10 when He comes, in that Day, to be glorified in His saints and to be admired among all those who believe, because our testimony among you was believed. 2 Thessalonians 1:3-10

    I appreciate your view. Are you aware of what it means to be IN Christ? Consider the following. "That IN/EN the Name of Jesus every knee shall bow, and every tongue confess"
    "You are Lord to the glory of God the Father."

    The Scope of the confession and worship=

    1. All beings in earth.

    2. All beings in the heavens.

    3. All beings under the earth.

    Yes.

    Those in Christ must remain in Him, or be cast into the fire and burned.

    If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned. John 15:6

    My friend, the walk with Christ Jesus is one of expanding horizons of union and communion. In fact, "being born anew" reaches to the present ongoing tense of "be being". I know not the depth of your union with Him, but abiding in Him is an ongoing relationship of love between God and His called out ones. It is not out of fear, not doing this or that, not enduring to the end, simply walking in union with your Lover.

    "From Him the all comes, through Him the all exists, and in Him the all ends.."

    If universalism were true there would be no reason to fear GOD. That is why it is such a pernicious doctrine - it subverts the fear of GOD.

    You must be kidding! Are you actually declaring the reason we follow God is out of fear? You, my friend, need to get rid of your present god fast! I follow the Living God because my poor miserable life finds no satisfaction with anything outside of union & communion with Him.

    "If men would have something to do with their hearts and their thoughts, that are always rolling up and down (like men with oars in a boat), after sinful vanities, they might find great and sweet employment to their thoughts upon Christ. If those frothy, fluctuating, and restless hearts of ours would come all about Christ, and look into His love, to bottomless love, to the depth of mercy, to the unsearchable riches of His grace, to inquire after and search into the beauty of God in Christ, they would be swallowed up in the depth and height, length and breadth of His goodness." -Samuel Rutherford-

    You mean this one?

    But I will show you whom you should fear: fear the one who has authority, after the killing, to throw you into hell! Yes, I tell you, fear this one! Luke 12:5

    And his mercy is on them that fear him from generation to generation. Luke 1:50

    and the Spirit of God shall rest upon [Jesus], the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and strength, the spirit of knowledge and godliness shall fill him; the spirit of the fear of God. He shall not judge according to appearance, nor reprove according to report: Isaiah 11:2-3

    "Love has no fear, because perfect love expels all fear. If we are afraid, it is for fear of punishment, and this shows that we have not fully experienced his perfect love."

    That verse creates an apparent contradiction:

    My friend there is no contradiction! None! God IS love, that is the very fabric of Himself: all aspects of His person flow from His essence. I will ask you one question>>>>>>>

    What drew you to Jesus Christ?

    "Should I worship Him from fear of hell, may I be cast into it. Should I serve Him from desire of gaining heaven, may He keep me out. But should I worship Him from love alone, He reveals Himself to me, that my whole heart may be filled with His love and presence." -Sundar Singh-

    Your next question, after you respond to what was the defining aspect of your drawing to Christ Jesus=

    The Lord Jesus Christ instructed His disciples to gather up broken fragments of fish and bread "that nothing be lost/wasted"

    Question=

    The Saviour of all mankind loses no remnants of fish and bread! How many individuals of our broken race does He lose?

    By these three prepositions Paul ascribes the universe (ta panta) with all the phenomena concerning creation, redemption, providence to God as the...

    Ex= The Source

    Di= The Agent

    Eiv= The Goal

    The Koine, ta pavnte, is the strongest word for all in the Scriptures; it literally means the all.

    Romans 11:36=

    ta pavnte/ ta panta, "in the absolute sense of the whole of creation, the all things, the universe, and, everything in heaven and earth that is in need of uniting and redeeming."

    It is not in the limited sense of "nearly all", "pavnte" minus "ta

    The final preposition [eiv) reveals the ultimate goal of all that is. What has been provided in Christ is a re-turn, a re-storation, a re-newing, a re-demption, a re-concilation, a re-surrection, a re-stitution.

    The prefix "re" means back again, again, anew--and all the words with this prefix speak of something that left its place and has now made its circuit and come back to the point of its beginning.

    In the Christian story God descends to reascend. He comes down;.... down to the very roots and sea-bed of the Nature He has created. But He goes down to come up again and bring the whole ruined world up with Him. -C.S. Lewis

    mkgal1 Please stay with us, I have received your messages and rejoice you are finding a resonance. I would send this little private message to you, but I have no clue how to accomplish such a feat. Why don't you trot over here and join us for a tour of our Father's "cherished purpose" in the Son of His love? We have barely (with a capital B) begun! F.L. will welcome you with pleasure. If you do not wish to join this little thread, send F.L. questions you may have, comments etc. and an old man will attempt to dig deep into the Presence. May His glory fill us all with exceeding dimensions of grandeur!

    Greetings my friend:The belief that Abba will have all mankind to be restored back into union with Himself was firmly believed by a number of schools in the early Church. The restoration does not include a get out of jail free pass, but means the mass of mankind (the polus) "made sinners" in Adam1 will be the same polus "made righteous" in the Last Adam, our Lord and Saviour Christ Jesus the Lord. This is not mere fancy of feeling good Theology, but rather, the purpose of God in His Son, His "cherished" purpose in Him. He not only desires this outcome, He wills it with determination!

    Is it not strange the long seasons that can elapse on the back-side of the desert? Year by year falls into the great abyss, and at the juncture where we can no longer speak, and the great struggle to do the will of God vanishes into weakness and death, the Bush appears pulsating with Deity. It is there at the asamuth of death and weakness the Living One speaks.

    "Take off your shoes from off your feet"

    Holy ground! The place where dust and Divinity meet! It is there in absolute weakness and inability, the Lord manifests Himself as the God who raises the dead. The road into the Tree of Life is by way of the flaming swords swirling in every direction. Those who reach for the Tree will suffer the loss of the hand, the fingers, the grasp of all they are! And as the process of the swirling swords rage upon these ones, great loss is inflicted, for nothing, no one, comes to the other side the same as it enters..NOTHING!...NOTHING!...NOTHING!

    The great stages of the Living One's glory must be in degrees of doxa. We are changed from one degree of glory to another and another! It requires a thought beginning in the mind of the caterpillar that ultimately leads to the building of a cocoon from which caterpillars become butterflies, and dust moves from the road of life into the Divine One, described as "the Living", the "I am", not the I was, the I AM.

    It is this Heavenly Road that grasps us, the Heavenly One, the Source leading to the Road, the sustaining Guide of the Road, and the Goal of the Road. All things lead to Him, through Him and for Him! And by Him all things consist. It has taken me over 70 years to go a journey that could be accomplished in 11 days, but dust and Divinity must meet; the goal is not all the story, the path is of equal value in the I AM! Each of us are on different stages of our Father's drawing hand, some so wrapped up in themselves they cannot see the bush that is aflame and is not devoured. It is just a common bush for many, but

    "Earth's crammed with heaven, and every common bush afire with God; and only he who sees takes off his shoes. -Eliz. Barrett Browning-
