KJV not word of God ? Or simply does not fit your doctrine so you don't use it ?
The KJV, dedicated to the High and Mighty King James, is the best translation for 1611 AD.
Since then the English language has evolved and todays translators have vastly more source material to give us Bibles that are far superior and more understandable.
Basically; those who grip onto the KJV as the only Bible, have been deceived and will miss the full and proper meanings of scripture.
2 Thessalonians 2:7 in the KJV, is just gibberish to us

And, jgr; thinking that the Early Church fathers had divine inspiration the same as the Apostles, is a very serious error. They are in the category of every writer since John the Revelator, up to the false teachers of today, like La Haye and Hagee.

The NAS is generally the most acclaimed for translation accuracy, and the YLT for literality. But the KJV deserves full credit as well, for those willing to deal with the more obscure meanings of old English renderings.

The ECFs, while not divinely inspired, are in innumerable respects unyielding bulwarks against modernist cultic dogmas such as the rapture, decapitated 70th week, two peoples of God, et al. They are as close to diametrical antitheses of LaHaye and Hagee as exist outside of inspired Scripture.

But not only is the KJV old English, its concepts are outdated, so its more than just the silly words like: thitherward.

OK; the two false teachers I cited are way worse than the ECF's.
But their writings should not be used to make doctrine or prove a scriptural point.
They didn't say that God would take His people to heaven, they didn't say there were Two people, Two Promises but they DID say, correctly, as proved by the now nearly 2000 year gap; that the 70th Week would happen in the latter days.

The closest to a 70th week gap that appears in 18 centuries of true Church history was that postulated by Irenaeus and his protege Hippolytus. Their gap was about 500 years, and of course came and went uneventfully.

None before them, and none after them, suffered from postponement delusion, until Darby.

All we need to prove the gap, is the indisputable fact of nearly 2000 years passing since; the Anointed Prince was removed and no one took His place.... Daniel 925b

Messiah is the only individual identified as a prince in the passage. He is the prince appearing in Daniel 9:25 and Daniel 9:26.

Messiah is also the "he" in Daniel 9:27 via grammatical antecedence back to the "prince" in Daniel 9:26, who is in turn Messiah via grammatical antecedence back to "Messiah" in Daniel 9:25.
