I always here people talking about the Rapture, but I don't know of any literal examples of the world living on after the Second Coming of Christ. I am curious what everyone has to say about this.

I have never studied the "the rapture." I am interested in knowing more about it! Would you be interested in studying it?

I have studied it, but only based around my doctrine of beliefes and some other various doctrines.


Honestly, no I would not be interested in studying it...

I will be gone by tuesday as it is, and my church spent 5 1/2 years studying revelation (we're talking 45 min sermons every week).
If can't agree on baptism, or even music, then the rapture is the last place we should go.

I will tell you this much... you will not find the word "rapture" anywhere in Gods Word.

I know that we are to pray for his Kingdom to come, and I am going to be doing just that.

I'm not trying to start a big debate. I know what the 2nd coming is. I honestly don't really know what the Rapture is supposed to be. Does it go along with the left behind stuff, if so, whats that all about. I'm really searching for information, and verses I could study to give myslef some knowledge of the Rapture.

So the the Rapture is just a name that people gave to the 2nd coming of Christ? It doesn't imply anything more than this? It doesn't have anything to do with the whole left behind stuff? It doesn't have to do with people believing Earth lives on after this coming? If not, then thanks!

So that is it, none of my other questions apply? Thankyou though, I admit I did not know Rapture meant taken away. That does help.

I really had no clue, I knew it had to do with the 2nd coming, but I always see things about people just disappearing...I don't know the details. I guess I see alot about that left behind stuff. Thats why I started the post, information.

Christ never touches earth..1 thes 5:1-15

tribulation begins rev 4-19

2nd coming starts in Rev 19:11

There is a seperation between the rapture and second coming, the rapture is when the church, as a body of believers leave this earth and the tribulation starts, the second coming is when Christ comes back to rule on earth for 1,000 years.

This is explained in Left Behind, though I disagree that ALL children would go to heaven, just those who would have been christians if they lived out their lives, those among the "chosen", a Puritan belief.

Rev 19:11 is god,not jesus.

Jesus will call for us, it is Him that raptures us

Yeah there we go. I was thinking that was the second coming. I forgot about the fact that Christ coems back after the trib... I always looked at it as a 3rd coming. hehehe oops?
