I just finished your Curry video. I thought he taught a lot of good stuff. I also thought he had a 'back up' calling as a comedian. :)

One thing I differ with him on though is this; he doesn't distinguish the difference between the spiritual anointing that is within you which is the holy spirit of Christ, and the anointing that is upon you, which is the Holy Spirit of God. Jesus never received the Holy Spirit until he was 30, establishing the pattern we follow and the 'fundamentals' don't. But Jesus, as 'the son of man' walked in the anointing within Him that came from having the spirit of Christ. A spirit which matured Him into becoming the manifested 'son of God'. A title which was audibly attested to, by the Father at the Holy Spirit baptism of Jesus.

Concerning the anointing within that scripture says keeps you from needing 'any man to teach you' is why Curry Blake said "if a (five fold) teacher is doing a good job it will be the anointing of the spirit within that truly teaches you the spiritual things of God, and not just man's teaching. Curry said that it's the Holy Spirit within, but like I say (being a bigger heretic than you ;)) I disagree with him on 'that point' only. Which is pretty good for me. I have actually listened to almost all of another video from him, while working on my Fat tire bike this afternoon.

And it was that same 'spirit of Christ' in "Jesus the Christ" by which he grew in wisdom and favor with God. But it was the Holy Spirit which enabled him to move in supernatural Spiritual power.

LUK 2:40 And the child grew and became strong, filled with wisdom; and the favor of God was upon him.

It was 'that Christ spirit' within which led Him to grow to maturity and become the perfect sacrifice.

HEB 5:8 Although he was a son, he learned obedience from what he suffered
9 and, once made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation for all who obey him

This is why I believe the fundamentals are so 'fruit' conscious. That's within their anointing, whereas walking in the supernatural 'gifts' is not. But no where is 'fruit' only, or 'gifts' only the call of maturity. It is not an either or calling but a 'both and' calling. God wants us to both walk in His character/fruit and in His power/gifts.
You may want to listen to it more then once.
The mibd takes a while to get renewed.
The word anointed
Is about being apointed to a task or office.
Its nothing about power.
The power or authority is what any believee is appointed to walk in once they recieve the Holy Spirit.
Once ww have. We then begin to take action because we believe in JESUS.
Not be cause we wait around for some mystical feeling.
Im not a full time Gospel worker because i recieved some special anointing.
Im one because i .same as others, received the holy Spirit .
Then after many wasted years listening to churches teach about waiting seeking getting some special mystical anointing
..i repented of not believing i already have the holy spirit... And began to do (and learn)what the lord jesus told us to do.
Just saying the facts...
It led to us both leaving jobs selling house forsaking seeking anything worldy and doing the great commission.

Wrong I'm afraid. Jesus still has a body - a glorious one.

Phil 2:5-8 "we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our lowly body to be like his glorious body"

Paul met the resurrected Christ - in person. Just as he said he did.
Not of flesh...

I dont base my reasoning on any scripture but rather i base it on the lack of real apostles and teachers in the church today.
Yeah...that rather proves what i said.

Which is..
I dont think any one arrives at a cessationist conclusion by reading the scripture.its all taught and passed on externally.

You did some mocking yourself.
SM has mocked God. I have not!!!! You can mock me all you want, but when you start mocking the gifts of the Holy Spirit, you are mocking God! I know that you don't have a clue what I'm saying, and I honestly feel sorry for you, but I will keep praying for you as the Holy Spirit leads me to.

I'm done with this thread. You have heard the truth. If you continue to reject God's truth, it's all on you.

I have done nothing of the sort. I denounce what people claim to be gifts when they are clearly nothing of the sort - they do not match the biblical descriptions. The people who mock God are the ones who knowingly attribute to Him things which are clearly not of Him.

Sorry, not trying to criticize or anything, but you may want to wait a bit to see if the anointing thing is true or not. You may end up being a bit 'cessationist' yourself in some way.
I would suggest to leave the door open a little just in case is it true...
God bless.

Most churches centre around one man, men, or other entertainment at the front, with most members sitting passively in rows until told to sing, and in my book, that does not do what scripture calls for.

Heb10v24And let us consider how to spur one another on to love and good deeds.
There is no spurring of one another in most churches, the members being mostly passive.

25Let us not neglect meeting together, as some have made a habit,
There's lots of meeting before the pastor, but little meeting together.

but let us encourage one another, and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
Again there is no one another, just from the man in front who commands the whole show whilst the congregation remain passive.

I attend services to get my car fixed. I don't go to church to get serviced, and in fact Paul never mentioned services.

Neither Jesus nor Paul intended churches to operate like they do. We are members of the one body of Christ and are all called to minister by the gifts of the Holy Spirit, just as Paul describes here.-
1Cor14v26What then shall we say, brothers? When you come together, everyone has a psalm or a teaching, a revelation, a tongue, or an interpretation. All of these must be done to build up the church.

I am not interested in one man pretending to be the fountain of all knowledge. I want to hear what the Holy Spirit is speaking, fresh every time.
I know when the pastor preaches from the scriptures that is the real message the Holy Spirit intends for us to hear, but what passes in many Charismatic churches as the Holy Spirit communicating to us, not so much!

So you were wrong when you said all demons had to flee the moment we are saved.
They must flee from us in the sense can ever possess us any more, but they can still oppress us if we allow Satan a foothold into our lives... its not that the Lord is weak, but that we are not walking in the armor of God, nor being infilled by the Holy Spirit.

I dunno but thats an excuse i've heard. Such a statement would damage someones faith more than build it up. The worst part about it is that false teachers gat praised while their victims are left without an ounce of edification from their brethren. This however is a blessing because God gives us His strength and peace. Gods strength is made perfect in our weaknesses.
Many of those holding to woF say that when we end with the prayer of God, your will be done, that is a lack of faith!

if you dont believe its his will to heal, then you dont believe its his will to save either.
I believe that God still decides how the healing is done, whether by divine healing, surgery, medicine, or death of the saint!

well then there is NOTHING satan can do,,,that includes keep you sick
Not all sickness is from satan, as the curse of the fall brought death and disease to this earth, and many Christians get sick just because still in the state of the fall here, and God Himself also at times uses sickness to chastise His own, and to wake them up!

And i have a good reason to go to church to meet God , i received the Holy spirit there, i met God the first time there, the presence of God, so it is not worthless at all at least for me, and defective as people in the church may be, i'm not trying to correct you or anything, but we need our brothers. I have autism so i don't get even to salute people in the church, or talk much, but there is some things that happen spiritually when we get in a reunion with the brothers, things happen.
The local body of believers is commanded to meet the first day of the week, Lord's day, in order to praise and worship God, to be taught and trained up in the scriptures, to have communion and water baptisms etc!

And if we are not healed, is it because we don't have enough faith?
No, its because God is still sovereign, and He will choose to do what is the best thing for us at that time! He is still God, and not bound by law of Faith and confession as WoF teaches!

paul didnt see The lord Jesus "in the flesh"
so that theories debunked before you started it.
but i guess a guy i know who died and saw the lord Jesus and came back to life ,must qualify
oh wait he does speak in tongues and heal and sees signs and wonders...oh well there you have it.
An Apostle HAD to either walk with Jesus, know Him personally while he was here, or else have Him appear to them after resurrected, as happened to both James and Paul!
And that person you described has no way to know if that was Jesus or not...

Ah, I was wondering why you are so vehement about there being apostles today. You claim to be one yourself!

Are you an eye-witness to the resurrected Christ?

Were you appointed by Christ himself?

Do you have the marks of an apostle and perform miracles such as raising people from the dead?

Do you speak infallibly for Christ as his spokesman?

Should we regard your posts as scripture?
An Apostle of Jesus was inspired to speak and record revelation of God, so is he?

And we still have them. Paul, John, Peter, Matthew, James.... They are still building up the body of Christ and equipping his people.

That is not true. Paul regarded himself just as much an apostle as the Twelve.
  • 2 Cor 11:5 "For I consider myself not in the least inferior to the most eminent apostles."
  • He associated himself himself with the Twelve 1 Cor 4:9 "God has put us apostles on display"
  • He appealed to his eye-witness status as evidence of his apostleship.
  • He performed miracles like the Twelve.
  • He wrote more scripture than all the others put together.
  • He was prepared to make a stand against Peter.
  • Like the twelve he did not receive the gospel from any man, but from Christ himself (Gal. 1:11-12)

Apostles and prophets were for the foundation of the church with Christ the cornerstone (Eph 2:20). Are we still laying the foundation of the church?
Peter and John both saw paul as Apostle to the Gentiles as they were to the Jews, same authority and inspiration!
