Why defend Antifa? They started the riots and fights,
and not just in Charlottesville.

Trump condemned both antifa and the white supremacists. Thank God we have a man with guts in office.

One interesting thing about the current national climate is how many people have unashamedly, without reservation, defended antifa.

Even Mitt Romney did so.

If that's the current climate then widespread political violence is likely to become the norm in the future. After all, most people seem to support it, provided that the right people are engaged in it.

Someone's "artwork" is hardly proof of anything.
No but Trump going off script on camera is. It was very clear that he defended Nazis and KKK. On camera he stated that some Nazis and KKK are "very fine people". This is not surprising considering significant part of his base is White Supremacists.

22 million Americans support neo-Nazis, new poll indicates

So about 1/4 of Trump base supports Neo Nazis. Do you think it is a surprise Trump defends his base?

What makes you think he's bound to reading a script when he speaks? One thing people like about Trump is that he says what he means. He's not like a certain president of the past 8 years (who shall remain nameless) who was rightly called the "Teleprompter in Chief" who couldn't even speak to school children without his trusty teleprompter telling him what to say.

It was very clear that he defended Nazis and KKK. On camera he stated that some Nazis and KKK are "very fine people". This is not surprising considering significant part of his base is White Supremacists.

You keep repeating that drivel, but it hasn't become any more true with the repetition. He in fact said there were some very fine people on BOTH sides. But you can rewrite his words if you want if they fit your (false) narrative better.

Is your problem with Trump, or about 40 million American citizens?

It seems the only defense you have for POTUS is to create strawman argument and attempt to argue that. You do this almost every response post you make to me. I cannot blame you it is hard to defend the indefensible.

You keep repeating that drivel, but it hasn't become any more true with the repetition. He in fact said there were some very fine people on BOTH sides. But you can rewrite his words if you want if they fit your (false) narrative better.

So in Trumpland facts are now drivel. Yes it is understandable Trump supporters would resort to this defense. How else to avoid cognitive dissonance for defending man who defended KKK and Nazis? Just create a fantasy world where Trump does not do these disgusting actions and there is no problem.

You haven't even established anything as a fact. Especially the statements you keep making as if it's all you can come up with. Show me how it is a fact and we can go from there. Otherwise, it is only an assertion.

You strawman nearly any fact raised.

Fact is Trump defended Nazis and KKK. He said some are "very fine people". That is defending Nazis and KKK to almost everyone in world.

Now you're calling the fact that I ask you for proof a strawman. Perhaps you should look up the definition of that word before continuing to use it.

I'll give you a fact that you yourself won't even bother to provide on the subject. Here is exactly the statement Trump made. “You also had some very fine people on both sides".

He also said something else that doesn't sound very much like he's defending Nazis and the KKK, as you keep saying. Word-for-word, here it is:

"To anyone who acted criminally in this weekend’s racist violence, you will be held fully accountable. Justice will be delivered. As I said on Saturday, we condemn, in the strongest possible terms, this egregious display of hatred, bigotry and violence. It has no place in America.

And as I have said many times before, no matter the color of our skin, we all live under the same laws. We all salute the same great flag, and we are all made by the same almighty God.

We must love each other, show affection for each other and unite together in condemnation of hatred, bigotry and violence. We must rediscover the bonds of love and loyalty, that bring us together as Americans.

Racism is evil. And those who cause violence in its name are criminals and thugs, including the K.K.K., neo-Nazis, white supremacists and other hate groups that are repugnant to everything we hold dear as Americans."

Oh yes. Trump did fine job of reading from script. It was a well prepared script but problem is what was in script is not what Trump really thought. It is when he went off script and his true feelings came out that problem arose.

When he went offs script is when he defended Nazis and KKK and said some are "very fine people". This not surprising considering that White Supremacists make up significant part of Trump base.

I think this also explain why Trump seem to attack other ethnic groups as well: blacks taking knee in peaceful protest and Puerto Rican hurricane victims to name two. I can provide other ethnic groups Trump attacks as well if you would like. This obviously make the White Supremacist in his base very happy. That it makes them very happy is undeniable.

"......on both sides". Aren't you happy that he "defended" both sides, including the one that decided to cause trouble for the one that was there after going through all the required steps to have their rally?

So some of the Nazis and KKK are "very fine people". Thus he defended Nazis and KKK. Why do you refuse to accept facts of such obvious statement?

Go back to post #170 for a look at what else he said. Then try to remember it before you say "He defended Nazis and KKK" again. Learn the facts instead of inventing them.

I know the facts. I already agreed that when reading from script Trump said appropriate things. Is when he went off script and let his true feelings show that he defended Nazis and KKK.

It is not complicated. If you try your best to have unbiased opinion you will see that it is very obvious.

The fact is that he was being neutral and not taking sides, even though the MSM certainly did. You can use your alternative facts if you'd rather see it in an alternate way.

I don't know if there was a day in the last months where I've visited the political and Yonny didn't make a post claiming that President Trump defended the Nazis and the KKK.

He's clearly very busy making that same claim ad naseum, forever. Can you blame him for not having time to actually read any of the president's remarks?

It seems that there are people here that seem to only have one agenda. His seems to be about Trump defending Nazis and KKK. There's another guy who's agenda seems to be all about racism. They seem to be sticking points that some people just wrap themselves around and can't see beyond.

He's clearly very busy making that same claim ad naseum, forever. Can you blame him for not having time to actually read any of the president's remarks?

I guess so. Part of me hopes that he'll wake up and read it. I even posted it for him, but he didn't even comment on it. That tells me how much the facts matter. After all, he "KNOWS" the facts.

Only the fascists on the left think that every protester against
taking down Confederate memorials were Nazis, KKK or racists.
There were many more protesting in other areas who weren't
there to fight or cause destruction of property than those who
came just for that reason.
