Pricing NVG'S for night security...soooooooo many to choose from, can only afford Gen1 but that will be more than most people have.

I just acquired ATN Gen II 5-12 night/day scope. I am looking to combine night visuality with rifle scope ability. I have scopes that I can remove and replace without the zero moving and I suspect this will be the same. This will give me 20+ magnification then I can use it at night as a scope or monocular. The difference is that I plan to use a external source with solar charging. Any thoughts?

Got cucumbers, 3 kinds of squash, watermelon, moss roses(my favorite), onions, and more in potting soil today. A good rain watered everything outside.

I bought a half dozen cans of chili with beans today. They have pop top cans. I bought some extra jelly too.

FedEx dude came by with an order.

30 cans of spam.
40 cans of mushrooms.

Some people do not like Spam... (I hear the voice of the Monty Python lady "I DON' LIKE SPAM...")
But I do. Barbara can stomach it as long as it is fried crisp up or diced up in mac n' cheese.
I grew up on the poor brother of Spam: "Treat." Even I cannot stomach that now. We love the Deviled Ham spread. I am thinking of a way to take some Spam, mash it up with some mayo and sweet relish, and come up with something comparable to Deviled Ham. Now nobody could turn that down! Except I would call it "Angeled Ham."
We don't want anything from the devil.

I got the mushrooms to add to different meals for the sake of variation. There is the danger of people becoming bored with the menu. Older people may even opt to not eat. We need to prep for that. Additions to the menu will help. Throw a can of mushrooms in an otherwise bland spaghetti sauce and people will be more likely to eat. That is the plan.

Garden is kind of languishing as we endure one cold night after another. Some plants just will not advance until you have a good solid ground temperature of 50 degrees. Nothing is dying or wilting... but not a lot of growth either. Except for the asparagus which is now about 10 inches. Also the potatoes, of which we now have 8 plants poking up... nice and green. Also, I see our first Sunchoke popping up.
Gave it all a good soaking of Miracle Grow yesterday. That will help perk things up a bit.

Found a new cave with water very close and southern exposure. It is a neat little place on a hill above a little creek loaded with fish. So I marked it on my mental GPS. :]

Suffering wet ground here. Every time I plan to crank the tiller it rains again before I can get to it.
May get to next week as this week I have a wedding to perform and cannot get to it.

It's funny the little things that are missed when one needs them. I know from camping alot that some things are really nice and very important :]
One thing is salt. Have salt always.

We had about 100 rolls stored up... dipping into the store has reduced it to about 90...

and if you had your cell phone with you they can find you yet!

Toilet paper. Nope. I'm switching to germicidal hand cleansing wipes... no reason for more than one product...unless you buy RV type paper that disintegrates. I've found >blush< that the wipes cut any smell plus dry more quickly than regular paper---and that they burn well. (Being part Polish I can tell this joke that comes to mind?: how can you tell you're in a Polish neighborhood? By the toilet paper drying on the lines.) Maybe it is true lol
