Zalika decided to not waste her energy on too much magic and turned back to her humanoid form. Her hand fingered her sword's hilt, but she waited to see what would happen next.

((Well, CC hasn't exactly told me my character is okay yet, but I'll just go ahead and do my intro anyway...))

A chilly breeze fluttered through the open window. The room was silent and still, save for the fluttering linen cutains that hung from the one large window. The ominous ticking of a large clock that stood like a sentinel by the door was the only audible sound. At first glance, you would also think the spacious room was deserted.

Then you would see the girl, her head resting on her palms, her eyes flitting across a page of the book that lay open in her lap, her long, dark hair cascading over her shoulder. She stayed that way for several minutes, pausing only occasionally to peer at the clock.

In one surprisingly fluid moment she slammed the book shut and bolted from the chair.
She rushed to a peg by the door and unhooked the white cloak that hung there, then ran from the room as if pursued by a hungry griffin. She dashed through several dark corridors until she reached a broad staircase. Her light footfalls echoed loudly off the imposing stone of the finely-hewn walls, but she didn't care about the noise. Her mission was one of haste, not stealth.

"It is time." she whispered softly as she completed the journey down the long staircase and darted nimbly into the garden beyond.

Tenkana decided that the time had come to assume a...more capable form. He stopped flaping his wings, which shrunk back against his chest, and fiery orange wings burst from his back. However, they weren't real skin; they were a type of magic. Tenkana then slipped his leather armor back over his chest and assumed an aggresive stance toward the guards, holding his sword and his staff.

Zalika watched Tenkana as she floated in the air. She found herself drawing her sword.
