Finally! Last night, just after I got in my car, they played it.

I don't think I'll ever consider it one of their great songs, but it's fun to listen to.

Now for the whole CD!
I love Vertigo, but I believe the best is yet to come.

I'm giving this thread a badly needed bump....there is just way too much going on in the U2 world right now and the new album is just around the corner!

Anyone else happen to preorder the U2 iPod besides myself? How about the Collector's Edition boxset with the album, DVD, and a 48 page book?!

!!!

My fave U2 songs are:
One
With or Without You
All I want is you
Bullet the Blue Sky
Hold me, thrill me, kiss me, kill me
The Sweetest Thing
Sunday, Bloody Sunday
I still haven't found what I'm looking for
Desire
Angel of Harlem
Beautiful Day
Pride
40
The Refugee
Mysterious Ways
New Years Day

Ahh! I gotta stop! I love just about every one of their songs. And now, I really like their new single, "Vertigo" and I am psyched for their new album "How to dismantle an atomic bomb" which is coming out on November 23.

I LOVE U2!!!!

I saw U2 in concert in 1997. It was by far the best concert I've ever been to. It was in Jacksonville, at the stadium, so it was "rain or shine". As luck would have it, it was raining on and off all day.

The coolest thing about that night, was when Discoteque started... at the EXACT time of the first note, it thundered very loudly, and it instantly began pouring, throughout the entire song. And when the song ended, so did the rain. The timing was perfect. :D

I got a lemon popmart shirt. It doesn't say U2 anywhere on the shirt, so people always ask me what the heck it is.

Thank you, ashes, for sharing your expirience with us. I have not seen U2 in concert, but I will when their new tour kicks off.

I want a Vertigo t-shirt!

Kristian-yes, the album has been leaked. I haven't downloaded it though. I want to wait 'till the 23rd.

I will be getting the boxed edition of the album, but I know I won't have forty bucks the day the album comes out, so I'll buy the regular version first and wait to buy the special edition when I have the money.

The Ipod sounds like a pretty sweet deal. I'd love to have it, but again, it's a lot of moeny. But once I get a job, things will be differen't.

U2 is the greatest band of all time!!!!!

I just got their new CD, "How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb"-- It definitely rocks, and has to be one of there greatest CD's to date!!!! I stand for there values, there charity, there love for the world- they are truly living a life that's Christ Centered- and Truly Kingdom. They stand for social justice, when no one else does. I love Bono's voice, The Edge's guitar, Adam's bass, Larry's Drums-- They ROCK. My favorite songs are "with or without you", and "pride(in the name of love"... I don't know this new CD rocks, and I think I might have some new favorites!!!!!

Thumbs up for the guys!!! Can't wait till they come to Dallas-- If they do!

I can't get the new album out of my head!!

Some thoughts... (not about the album, but U2 in general):

Alot of people doubt Bono's Christianity. I don't. A good majority of U2 songs make me think one thing: God. If not God, then Heaven, Jesus, or anything that doesn't symbolize wordly **** (sex, drugs..)

People say the members of U2 can't be Christians, because they drink, smoke, use swear words... but I can't judge. For I'm a sinner as well. We all are... and who's to say that one person's swearing is worse than their own lying?

When I hear their songs, I'm just captivated... I hear someone singing who's singing to God... someone who is in love with God. Even if it isn't as obvious as "Lord I Lift Your Name on High". They do have the obvious songs though... (Gloria, Yahweh, 40...)

If I could only meet one famous person in the course of my lifetime, I'd want to meet Bono. Sit down and talk with him, and spend a day with him. I'm sure he's an awesome guy.

I laugh at the Christians who question Bono's Christianity...they should be asked how many millions of lives in Africa and elsewhere they have saved or changed for the better while they were nit-picking about someone's drinking (Jesus drank ;) ), smoking and swearing (Paul swore ;) ). Read John 8.

Even though they experimented with their 'image' in the 90s The Edge said that they never strayed from the strong Christian convictions they'd developed as teenagers at the Shalom fellowship in Dublin.

Often Christians are guilty of only judging the superficial and thus failed to understand U2's art and irony.

When Bono dressed up as the Devil (MacPhisto) during the ZooTV concerts a Christian girl asked him if he had lost his faith. He asked her if she had read the Screwtape Letters...C.S. Lewis wrote a book from Satan's perspective, why couldn't Bono expose the Devil in the same way?

The new record is incredible and Bono is one of the most inspiring Christians today. :amen:
