The lonely club

OK---I'm a guy and to me it's all about fighting.

In '98 I had a bad industrial accident at work. I was in rehab for one year and would wake up in the middle of the night screaming with muscle spasms. In '99 I got disability. I wrecked my cycle in '04 and cryshed my right arm. tore my rotor cup and busted some ribs. In '06 I had a heart attack. Now I don't know but I consider myself blessed by God to be able to get up in the morning and still do daily chores and just about anything I want. I've spent 2 1/2 years out of the last 6 years in rehab. Now I'm not braging or saying I've had it worse than other people because I don't know that. There are a lot of people worse off than I am and I thanks God I am mobile and can get around and do things. Praise GOd from whom all blessings flow and count my blessings. As I said it's all about fighting with God on my side.

Hello Tap..and others, I would like to join the club too, I have lonely monents too but they are mostly my own fault, I don't have many friends, I get invited to go places and do things but choose to stay at home, then when it is all over, I wish I would have gone. I still work but it is a complicated situation too, because most of the employees are young people,,most of the management staff are young people at time it gets very stressful and almost unbearable, I am sort of between a rock and a hard place, I feel like I am too old to be working, and not old enough to retire.

I mostly stay home on my computer.
I am in good health and I thank God for that, just a few minor problems I thank Him for that too.

I really have no reason to complain.

We can all use more friends.

Hello Tapero I too felt lonely but it was after being abandoned by my spouse once I found this place I truly felt a lot better. Since I was welcomed let me say: Welcome and God bless you. You're gonna' love it here.

Thank you for the welcome pboop. What a neat name. I'm sorry to hear your husband left, but I'm glad you found CF. It's the only place i go on the net aside from biblegateway.com to read the bible.

Wouldn't it be nice, to live in a huge brownstone, where you can be on your own or always have company if you want it. Always been a daydream of mine, though I've never seen one of those except on TV.

Please feel free to pm me anytime, anybody..sometimes it will take a little to write back, but I try to reply right away when I'm online and not modding.

Hi, I understand the keeping to yourself because I do it all the time. I think about going back to work and know some youngin will be my boss and co-worker. I can see that must be a stressful situation. What do you do at lunchtime? I always had a hard time at lunch caue I kept to myself then too.

Oh, I wish there was something to do about the lonliness when one stays inside. Even for those that get out, I know lonliness is just awful. I pray to God and sometimes just praise Him starting from things in the ot to the new. It helps me, but mostly I sleep all the time.

Again, feel free to pm me anytime anybody. I would love new friends, and like to write, though I don't have much to talk about. LOL

I do believe there is a huge battle for the mind...just keep working on it...my mind...LOL...trying to meditate on the word more and more...

Its a daily process,but it can be done.

I was a day dreamer before....now I ask God to take my mind.
after awhile ....it just comes natural....till trials come..LOL

I'm so glad I found this forum! My name is Joanne, I'm 56, and I'm 'physically challenged'. As my name says, I'm pretty much homebound due to my disability. My right leg is partially paralyzed as a result of nerve damage from a ruptured lumbar disc. I also have a badly broken right ankle which isn't healing. The doctors tell me that I need fusion surgery, and I could possibly lose my right lower leg, but I'm believing the LORD for a miracle! I'm married (30 years in Sept!), and have a 20 y.o. son who's presently serving time in prison partly because of a tool of satan called 'crystal meth'. He's going to church, and I'm trusting God for him too!

Sorry to go on so long I'll be back soon!

P.S. I'm 9 years old in the LORD today!

Seems like it's the outpatient's ward here!!

I went to see the surgeon today for an update on my knee but I only got to see his registrar who has never known me very well and doesn't realise the depth of my experience. So he was a tad patronising and when I asked to see the photos, actually told me that I probably wouldn't understand them!! Cheek!

Ultimately it seems that I will be able to have the smaller resurfacing job which is a great relief but then he gave me a 6/12 review appointment and no mention of when I'd have the op!! I was rather hoping I'd be about due for my post-op appointment by then!!

Still, I am in the privileged position of being able to collar the consultant at work in a couple of days!!

I have a counselor and she comes to my house because I won't drive there. She's trying to push me out of the house a little more and it's very stressful. I understand the pressure she is under, but it's very hard to go out.

But today wasn't so lonely since she came over.lol

Just thought I'd say how my day went. Take care Tapero

Tapero, I feel for you. I had a period shortly after a major op when I couldn't go out. I was many months fighting it. I had to go out to get stuff as I lived on my own and didn't have good neighbours but I would get increasingly anxious, scared, rapid pulse, sweating hands, feeling wobbly - in fact awful. If I couldn't get straight to a checkout that was empty, I'd have to put my basket down and flee the shop! In the end, I found a local GP (doctor) who taught self-hypnotism and I was cured!! (No, not that kind of hypnotism, just an intense form of relaxation). But it worked and within a few weeks I was back at work and dealing with my department as if I'd never been away!

Funny thing was, when I was in my panic attacks, the very moment I started for home, no matter how far away I was, all my symptoms began to subside and when I was in sight of home, they were gone!!

Hello everyone...I was gone for a few days in our RV...that is one thing I can do now...we can control my environment a lot...first year I was sick, I could not get into it because of the vapors...anyway...I got to talk to people and do some walking...am ryin to keep up with the walking at home...I am allergic to shoes...LOL

Anyway...I have been refreshed in my soul lately...not so depressed or oppressed...I hope this continues...((((hugs))).

One things I am learning...the Lord's grace is amazing...no small thing or just a word...His grace has power to help me overcome things I thought devestating...they were devestating...but He is greater...
