I know and am persuaded by the Lord Jesus that there is nothing unclean of itself, but to him that esteemeth anything to be unclean, for him it is uncleanRomans 14 does not say anything about "unclean".
Rather it discusses the idea of being vegetarian (so then no meat at all.. not just clean meat. People who eat lamb and beef are not vegetarian) vs meat-eating. It has to do with the 1 Cor 10 problem where Paul says "I would never eat meat again if it causes my brother to stumble" -- has nothing at all to do with Lev 11 and clean vs unclean -- (eating diseased meat, rats cats etc --vs-- eating beef that is not diseased.)

You know, in my youth I was a member of a certain denomination. I was convinced it was the only true first century church. And I made scripture fit the denominational beliefs.
Now I don't, but many still do
