Okay, so it sounds like Pitchfork was just pressing Denison, Rosie, and Sufjan for information, so they just made up some random stuff to tell them.

So it looks like they aren't actually having a baby. But I hope the album is still actually happening. That would be fantastic.

I can't believe that Pitchfork wouldn't be aware that they were just having a little giggle. Though, maybe their pretentuous little heads are stuck so far up their snobbish little butt that they couldn't image an artist lying to them.

For some reason, I've always felt like Dave Grohl was a completely trustworthy person. Like, I honestly would probably believe anything he said.

Oh right! Indie thread...umm...So, anyone heard the new Built to Spill? Because I have. And it's AWESOME.

I don't know about that, but he grows a fine beard! And I guess people with beards are more trustworthy.

Yeah, it's better than I thought it would be, but I wish they'd write like they did back in the day ("There's Nothing Wrong With Love"). I think Martsch has really dropped the ball on focusing on melodies.

Ok, so yesterday I saw both Man Man and Pattern Is Movement live.

Incredible.

PiM is really good. Man Man, however, is simply insane. The obvious, lazy comparrison of what would happen if Tom Waits and Sufjan Stevens collaborated. Except Man Man uses all sorts of trinkets to produce sounds... there is so much going on that mics can't even catch it all... so the only way to get the whole experience is to be in the very front of the stage.

So yeah. If you ever get a chance to see Man Man... do it. Classic, classic live show.

Built to Spill was added to the Lollapalooza line-up. I really need to figure out if I am going or not...does anyone know when ticket prices are going up?

And on a note-so-indie note: I've decided Futurama is one of the greatest shows ever. I'm half-way through the second season right now...and at this rate, I'll probably be on the fourth by this weekend.

I used to watch it all the time when my bro was at college with me (I bought him two different seasons). Definitely one of my favorite shows, with Zoidberg being my favorite character.

I've got into Futurama recently, it's funnier than Family Guy imo. I also joined the Amazon DVD rental thing and I've been making my way through all the Seinfeld and Fraiser episodes I missed on TV, and Neon Genesis Evangelion.

Futurama has a certain charm to it. I think I like that, even though it was popular, it never exploded into the type of hype that Family Guy had/has.

All my friends make fun of me because I watch reruns of Frasier on Lifetime. :sigh:

Evangelion is a great anime. Too bad in rather spiraled into incomprehension late in the series.

Futurama never had much more than a rabid cult following. It was too much for the general public. And had too few fart and *** jokes for the Family Guy audience.

Picked up the new Fiery Furnaces album today. It's pretty awesome. I do miss the grandma's vocal contribution, though... but it's still a great album.

Also-- the new Loose Fur album reminds me why I love Wilco and why "A Ghost Is Born" was such a disappointing album.

The new Fiery Furnaces album is great -- much better than Pitchfork seems to imply in the review.

Similarly, I think the new Streets album is really good, in spite of the mediocre Pitchfork review. I mean, sure it's a little more polished that the previous albums, but I think Mike Skinner really wrote some great hooks on this disc (which he hinted at on the last record [dry your eyes comes to mind]). The chorus to War of the Sexes is so damn catchy.

I also downloaded the Band of Horses album, and though there has been a fair amount of hype surrounding them and I enjoyed their single, I must say I am somewhat unimpressed with the full-length. It's just sort of boring. I have a feeling they might be this years Wolf Parade (i.e. talked up alot, but aren't too impressive).

Also, only one day until Islands and Why?, which makes me excited, happy.
