Too many persons still believe in the 39 hours rather than believing in Jesus words that said 3 days and 3 nights that is equal to 72 hours.

So SAD that they do not understand the word of Jesus.

Read all the gospels and understand the word and the mistakes.

I believe in Jesus and on His words.

Glory be to God and to Jesus.

Another problem that Christianity has on Sundays: Worship service.

Is not worship service is praise service.

To worship is to pay respect, to honor somebody. To honor our creator. To do it on the day of the Sun is total disrespect to the Creator.

And the problem of saying I'm going to church. The church is the building made of bricks and not of souls.

Jesus built His "ekklesia" not a church. Ekklesia is the Greek word that means "assembly" or congregation.

So Christianity is doing it ALL wrong. Why? Because after Jesus left this world, the enemy came around and changed those things that Jesus had told His disciples.

Get some salve and open up your eyes.

I think you will find that ekklesia means called-out ones, and it is the called-out ones who assemble.

Being called out is at the root of our being as Christ's people. Without his calling us, we do not exist as his people, regardless of whether there is a gathering of people. After all, any number of people may gather, but not all those gathered are "called-out".

We are, in fact, called-out of death to life, from the world and its principles and placed into his community. My desire is that the ecclesia of the Lord become much more aware of our special status as his called-out peopleand that be the basis for our gathering together.

Here's something that baffles me about Seventh Day Adventists, and their offshoots. One of the first things an SDA member will say is, “Where did Jesus say that we don't have to keep the Sabbath?” Yet the SDA do not keep it themselves. They go to church on Saturday but they don't follow all the Old Testament Sabbath laws.

What does the Old Testament say about cooking on the Sabbath?

Do not light a fire in any of your dwellings on the Sabbath day.

--Exodus 35:3 NIV

In other words, there are to be no cooking fires, and no cooking on the Sabbath.

SDA Founder Ellen White had a different view.

“While cooking upon the Sabbath should be avoided, it is not necessary to eat cold food. In cold weather let the food prepared the day before be heated.”

This EGW quote is from Testimonies for the Church, Volume 6, Section 6: Cautions & Counsels,
The Observance of the Sabbath, [sub-heading] The Sabbath in the Home.

Exodus says no cooking fires. Ellen White says that you can light a fire to warm food on the Sabbath.

EGW always puts her judgment above the scripture.

There's nothing about 72 hours in the Bible.

Praise is worship.

Where do you get this idea? Please explain how worship or praise can be disrespectful.

Never on Sunday.

To call it Sunday is to pay respect to the Sun and not the Son.
Where do you get this idea? Is Jesus the sun?
The day of rest is His day, Jesus and God's day.

Man changed the day, behind the ideas of the enemy, none other than Satan.

God's day has not been changed, it is still the day of rest, the sabbath.
Evidently you haven't read the complete Bible.

The people that follow the RCC have not read Revelation 18 special 16 through 19.

Also 18:4 has a warning.

Do you people know how to read and understand the Word of God?

Salvation is the essence of it.

A matter of friendship with Jesus.

The "Truth" will set you free.

"Beware of the lies."

I just eat pop tarts and cereal bars myself on the sabbath, since those don't need to be heated. Some people say it was just because starting a fire involved a lot of work back then as opposed to just pressing buttons now, but I don't want to chance it. Better safe than sorry.

Salvation by works. Did Jesus died in vain for you?

Your post reminds me of people that will not step on a crack for fear something bad might just happen. They go through life in total fear disregarding the promises of Jesus.

Travis, it is not what we do or don't do, it is about what Jesus has done for us.

Question: why is it that you chose the Mosaic covenant to be your way of life and why did you pass by the covenant Abraham was given? Certainly you have the choice. You could go way back and choose the Noahide covenant of better yet go back to the Garden of Eden and choose the covenant Adam had with God.

As you portray, the Mosaic covenant is very complicated and causes you to be so fearful that you eat pastry on the day you believe God is demanding you observe. Do you really believe that God wants you to eat unhealthy pastry in order to serve Him? What kind of a testimony is that for us who are observing you change your life. Being a Christian should be the greatest joy a man could ever experience. Your example of being a Christian is nothing but a tremendous burden.

I pray this helps because we all deserve to live a joyful life. When we accepted Jesus as our Savior we began eternal life. Pray about your way verses freedom in Christ.

Luke 24
Young's Literal Translation (YLT)

1 And on the first of the sabbaths, at early dawn, they came to the tomb, bearing the spices they made ready, and certain [others] with them,
2 and they found the stone having been rolled away from the tomb,
3 and having gone in, they found not the body of the Lord Jesus.

The 7th day is the Sabbath - Ex 20:8-11

The bible never says "the first day is the Sabbath" -- not even once ... not in the NT and not in the OT.

Your suggestion that Christ was resurrected on the Bible Sabbath - the 7th day Sabbath - is flawed concept. He was raised on week-day-1. "The first day of the week".

=============

Luke 18:12 YLT -- 12 I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all things -- as many as I possess.

Same word as in Luke 24:1 -- 'on the first day of the week at early dawn'. NKJV/KJV/NASB

Among the several things that Harold Camping got wrong - this is one of them.

The term “first of the sabbaths” is found in all four Gospels. Moreover, it appears in connection with the resurrection, at the time of the Resurrection and the time that Christ's Resurrection was discovered or revealed to mortals. Not only does the phrase “first of the sabbaths” appear in all four Gospels, it appears in the same context in all four Gospels.

“First of the Sabbaths” might seem to be an odd phrase if you've never seen it before. What does it mean? The Jews had been celebrating Sabbaths for thousands of years. How would a Sabbath at this time be the first? Why is a Sunday referred to as a Sabbath? At first glance, this is a clash of concepts.

The conception presented in the Gospels is this: The Saturday that Christ was in the tomb was the last Jewish Sabbath. The Sunday that Christ resurrected from the dead is the first Christian Sabbath. In other words, the old Jewish Sabbath is dead, and Sunday is the new Christian Sabbath.

“First of the sabbaths” is something known to the Gospel authors but not known to the witnesses at the time of the event. Mary Magdalene and company didn't know that it was the first Christian Sabbath when they rose to go to the tomb. The Gospel authors do use the phrase to express one aspect of what we should think about the Resurrection. It does change the day of rest and worship. In that sense, it makes it clear that the followers of Jesus have a different religion from traditional Judaism. Christians continued to worship with Jews on Saturday for many years but Sunday had already assumed a special place in their thinking.
I don't believe anyone can keep the Sabbath, I also don't believe we need to, I believe all we need to do is help people.

4th Commandment.

God asked the jews when they came back from Babylon, What have you done to my sabbaths?

It was only 70 years.

When Jesus comes back, He'll also ask, What have you done to my sabbaths?

It has only been around 1,700 years.

Why did God "hallow" the sabbath?

You can believe whatever you want, but you better follow and be obedient to your Creator.

First day of the week, sabbaton = 7 days = a week.

Sabbaton means a week, not a sabbath that is the last day of the week.

The ladies came to the tomb early the first of the sabbaton meaning, they came early to the tomb on the first day of the week, a Sunday.

At that time it was NOT CALLED SUNDAY, it was the FIRST day of the week and Jesus was not there because He had resurrected Himself exactly at 3:00 PM or the ninth hour as it was used at that time.

He said that He would be in the center if the earth for "3 days and 3 nights.

A clear part of the day has 12 hours and a dark part (night) of the day has also 12 hours. So 24 hours is one day times 3 is =72 hours.

Somebody said is not in the Bible, it is because Jesus said it, the problem is they do not know how to interpret what is in the word.

The first day of the week, is not Jesus day.

Did anybody pay attention to the statistics?

God hallowed the day for Israel and no other nation. Paul wrote that the Sabbath of Israel is a shadow and the reality Is Jesus. Paul was Jesus ambassador on Earth. His writings are cannon. Since the Sabbath of Israel is now a shadow Jesus will not say anything about not observing a shadow, He will ask those who spend a great deal of time keeping defunct rituals given to a defunct nation.
