MEMETIC SHOCK LEVEL 03 (0-4): borderline Enlightened. Purgatory; the countercultural realm. The more interesting Atheists, Libertarians, Transhumanists, and Modern Satanists dwell here, together with other freethinking and politically incorrect types. Congratulations, you're just a couple candles short of Enlightenment! Keep honing those clearly present rational, taboo-smashing instincts, and one day you too might become an Enlightened Transtopier.Master.
And yet, I am none of those???
Ok, if answer to yes, you get this.
MEMETIC SHOCK LEVEL 04 (0-4): the pinnacle. Transtopian, or pretty close to it. Progressive and hardcore with very few taboos. Looks like we have a WINNER here (either that or a major CHEAT)!
Now, to do this, you must agree with the following 35 statements (or at least most of them).
1. Being rational is always the best - this may be true alot of the time, but some times, being rational involves taking time to think, when one has no time. Sometimes one has to act off of instincts, which would be deffinided as irrational.
2. Any rule that stops you from doing what you want is bad - many will not agree that this states this, but this "open-ended existence under the best possible conditions" seems to say that any rule that limits living under the best possible condition needs doing away with. First, one may want to know what is the best. Best for him, or over all. Well, this should help "serves his
self-interest". Notice the word self, in other words, any rule that stops you from being selfish is bad.
3. Religion is stupid - wrong. This is what much of D&D is about, read and so it is something I will allow one to decide for themselfs.
4. N/A, when I clicked on hendonism, it blocked it as porn. I think I will leave this for someone else.
5. Making ourselfs better is good, till the point we do not die - I only think the first half is good, becuase one really cannot live forever, because then we cannot have kids, which means no joys of seeing your child take their fist step, ect. It also means we will have to stick around till the very desolute end of the universe, and is by all means impossible as entropy increases. Sooner or later, we are going to have to increase in chaos till we become pure heat.
6. Reason, science, and technology are the
best tools for improving the human condition - wrong. Love is. At least the idea of being kind to your neighber. If everyone loved each other, there would be no need for laws. We would experience life's true utopia.
7. Death means the end of everything - depends on if there is an after life, but still, as I said, living forever, we will still have an end of everything.
8. Dying for something important to ones self is ok, as long as it is done as the last resort - sounds good to me. My only problem, it clashes with the above.
9. Money buys everything - money can't buy happiness, love, or friends. It can buy fake happiness, lust, and people who are friends to your money, but not you.
10. As long as you can lawfully do something to someone else, especially if they did something to you, do. Mercy is bad - I have read this. "I can see a world so full of love (mercy) that justice is not needed, but I cannot see a world so full of justice that love is not needed.
11. (This is based off of the idea in 6, and so needs not being discussed.)
12. Being frozen so one can be revived is the only praticul solution - Unless the world stays the same, I don't want to lose all my loved ones, but some may think this is good.
13. (qouted)
. "
Political correctness" is usually just a euphemism for "
dogmatic nonsense". For example, all (individual) people are
not "created equal", and neither are racial groups. There
are significant differences, both good and bad. We're all the products of
evolution, and evolution doesn't give a damn about egalitarian PC ideologies. This, however, doesn't (automatically) mean that individuals should be
blindly discriminated against on the basis of their ethnicity, gender, age, disability, or sexual preference. Whenever possible, each person should be judged on his or her
own merits, and treated accordingly. - um, the first line I agree with, but not the rest (by saying not the rest, I do take the stance one should not be discriminated against, unless under certain conditions (aka a killer should not be allowed to live in a town if he will kill)).
READ THAT ONE AGAIN so you make sure you under stand my stance on it.
14. If you did it to yourself, it's your fault - I agree with (unless you are not mentally capable, like say a baby). Doesn't mean I like tobacco companies, becuase they are the ones giving people a chance to hurt themselfs.
15. Space is the next fronteir - I agree with this, heck, with the rate it is going, earth is about to be the lost fronteir.
16. (qouted) The statements
"Knowledge is power" and
"Power comes from the barrel of a gun" are
both correct. - both are true under the assumption that one realizes they are not the same power. One is a power to force, the first is the power to help choose.
Ok, I have spent far too long on these, so I will go ahead and skip a bulk of them.
22. Love is just a drug, sex is (not going there), and marriage is just a ritual. We're better off without them. - Yeah right, love is what earth needs more of, sex is (not going there (not due to taboo, but most people do not look badly at sex)), and marriage is based off of a special kind of love.
35.
Cooperation with like-minded people is highly advisable, especially for someone who agrees with most of the above. - in other words, you need to agree with people who agree with most of these. Maybe, according which ones. But this seems to say difference is bad, when it is good.
My oppinion on this is some very stupid person wanted to make himself (or herself) a test that made them feel smart. In fact, the test disagrees with it self (I have given one example) and is ignorant (like some others pointed out, just not using those same words). This test was just a way to waste time.
