Jesus argued with the Pharisees who added many doctrines of man. Christians can do the same thing with outward appearances. It is the inside of us that God wants perfection.

I remember going to my mother's SDA church when I visited her and heard the pastor say, "If you wear jewelry that just means you don't love Jesus and you are going to hell."

That's crazy preaching. A couple of years ago I attended an SDA church on a Saturday for a while to please a friend. It kind of confirmed the beliefs I hold most dear and am extremely passionate about

Are you saying the teachings of the SDA church confirmed your own beliefs? That's what it sounded like.

One woman at the church gave the sermon one week, the first time she had done so. She said:

We don't have crazy talk in this church.

The minister looked at me almost apologetically, for he knew my background

Yes, that is why the TC is the law of sin and death, and it is the Holy Spirit that gives eternal life through the law of the Spirit of life in Christ. The TC is outside, the Spirit is inside.

But not ALL law. We must keep the law of the Spirit of life in Christ, but that's easy because if you walk in the Spirit, the Spirit takes over and carries us.

We need to stop using the word 'law' willy nilly. Why are you refering to the Holy Spirit and our living in Him as the law. That is just really wrong theologically and it will take two pages of posts to try to set that one right if it is possible.

Sin is the transgression of the law. That does NOT refer to the law of the Spirit of life. The Christian has righteousness APART( APART) from law. Period!!
