Two things...

it is AWESOME how God responded to Zelophehad's daughters.

secondly, i understand better why God would not allow Moses to enter the land promised to the Israelites (that had always been difficult for me to grasp)
"it is AWESOME how God responded to Zelophehad's daughters."

I agree, this shows His compassion and love for His people, for us.

I wondered why God wanted Israel to go to such extreme lengths and this commentary helped explain it for me..
Numbers 31 - David Guzik Commentary on the Bible

Re: Numbers 31

Sooooo this is where Moses is told when he will die (after the Israelites war on the Midianites)

and it's recorded how Balaam died. What a foolish thing, that he knew of the power of the Israeli God yet plotted against the Israelites so abominably, and came to such an end.

This one's a little confusing....the children of Gad and of Reuben do not want to go over into the land which the Lord had given them....i'm not sure if this is a dis-trust of the Lord or a willfulness on their part, or if this tests the patience of the Lord. I'm wondering if this is going to deprive them of the blessings the Lord intended for them....

Interesting chapter.

Re: Numbers 30

Now i see why we gotta be careful with vows......they're the same as "promises" and God takes them super seriously. That's a sobering thought.

Well think of wedding vows, we say them before God and they are to be taken very seriously.. Though I do think many don't take them seriously enough these days and they don't feel they are saying before God but that's another discussion.
