Joab killed a traitorous criminal who clearly sought to assassinate the king. Joab did his job.

Yes you are right Joab did his job regards Absalom. King David would not have been in a position to criticise Joab for killing the man leading the rebellion. Nevertheless David loved his son Absalom and waited his time to get revenge against Joab. I believe that Joab had got old and weak over the years assuming that Joab was a similar age to David.

King David's judgments were skewed at times....

He was an indulgent father, and it interfered with the upbringing of his sons, and in his own judgment towards them.

You are right that King David was too indulgent towards his sons.

YES, he did. It was shameful what David did to Joab after all of his loyal service. And soldier or officer worth his salt would've done the same to Absalom, and even sooner than that. David had done lost his mind as far as possessing good judgment and wisdom for his kingdom and people. He had become a liability, and was causing bad morale everywhere.

One mother agrees the other drops her claim.

The one that dropped her claim showed love and got the child.

The people could see that the wisdon of God was in Solomon.

It was a wise thing to ask God for wisdom above anything else. God must've been pleased with Solomon for asking for wisdom rather than riches, etc. And God added on the riches, etc. when He granted Solomon wisdom.

Chapter 4 tells us that everything is going well for Solomon. The land of Israel has peace and prosperity along all its borders. At least part of this success can be put down to the power of Solomons wisdom.

This is a lovely chapter Solomon is creating friends with all his neighbours.

Two that were on the list were the pyramids and the hanging gardens of Babylon. Most of the places on the list were very obscure and most people had never heard of those places.

But in all other respects the Temple in Jerusalem was one of the great wonders of the world.

One of the original mighty foundation walls still remains and Jews pray there all the time.
