exquisite.
Brinny there are some beautiful verses in Chapter 22.
Many of these verses have been re-written and made into Christian choruses.

exquisite.
Isn't that lovely, to sing the Psalms?
2 Samuel Chapter 23
Now these be the last words of David.
David the son of Jesse said, and the man who was raised up on high, the anointed of the God of Israel, and the sweet Psalmist of Israel said,
The spirit of the Lord spake by me, and his word was in my tongue.
Verses 1 & 2
2 Samuel Chapter 24
Joab numbered the men of Israel.
Israel was 800,000 men.
Judah was 500,00 men.
Verse 9
1 Kings Chapter 2
As King David passed the throne over to Solomon he mentioned that Joab had murdered Absalom, Abner and Amasa.
Verse 5
King David also asked Solomon to punish Shimei who had thrown stones at King David and swore at him when he was on the run and hiding from Absalom during the rebellion.
Verse 8
Adonijah asked Bethsheba to speak to her son Solomon regarding a possible marriage to Abishag the beautiful Shunammite woman. Abishag was the beautiful damsel that kept King David warm in his final days.
Solomon thought this was impertinent and immediately put Adonijah to death.
Verse 24
Joab had supported Adonijah's claim to the throne, and he fled to the tabernacle and caught hold on of the horns of the altar.
Joab refused to let go of the horns of the altar, so Benaiah killed Joab beside the altar, and took over his job as captain of the host.
Verse 34
1 Kings:1
here, in verse 5 is where Adonijah pronounced his own death sentence and shows his wicked heart:
5 Then Adonijah the son of Haggith exalted himself, saying, I will be king: and he prepared him chariots and horsemen, and fifty men to run before him.
What adonijah did was wicked and treasonous. Makes ya' wonder why Solomon spared him.
It boggles me mind that David would pronounce a death sentence on Joab, who had been soooo loyal to him all those years. What a horrendous and shameful way for him to die.
And NOW he wants Shimei to be put to death? Why NOW? Why didn't he put him to death at the time he was so treacherous and downright contemptible to David and his throne?
There was more reason to slay Adonijah, than Joab.
