going after idols after knowing of the God of Israel, is especially insulting, however, isn't it? Isn't it an "in yer face" thing to do to God? It's kinda like sayin' to God that He ain't got no right to BE God or be worshiped and that He's not "good enough", isn't it?
This would be an excellent study, because man-made gods are basically a self-idolization, and a rebellion against the living God, and putting ourselves on the "throne" and "de-throning" God. It's a particular, and deliberate wickedness. KInda reminds me of one that had attempted to be as God and de-throne him from the beginning. Familiar traits from an of so familiar source.
There is one from the very beginning who wanted to be as God. This one precedes Adam. Adam and Eve had a "tempter". This one did not.
Indeed. Who is that one from the beginning, as Jesus said, he was a liar and a murderer from the beginning, and Jesus called him the father of lies. Who was it?
According to the Bible, from the very beginning of the Bible, and later when Jesus Himself said it, Jesus was clearly speaking of one who rose against the Most High God, from the beginning and was and always has been the father of lies and a liar and a murderer from the beginning. It speaks of an "adversary".
In addition there is this verse amongst others:
"Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:" ~I Peter 5:8
I'm not interested in seeing eye-to-eye with anything except what God's Word says, and testifies to, brother in Christ and beloved son of the Most High God.
If you love the thread, see it through. It can only be edifying, amen? Even in disagreement.
I do have a question, however. The verse i mentioned about the devil walking about as a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour......according to what you believe, it is speaking of Adam?
I believe that this subject is too important not to discuss it, and since it was mentioned, to then discuss it. Therefore, would you care to start a thread on it?
Can you start a thread? I'll respond there.
Thank you kindly, brother in Christ and beloved son of the Most High God.
