You're right. In fact perhaps I do not agree fully with Fr John as he says that it is the state of Illumination that one stays in and Theosis is fleeting. I am in the FB group studying him. I will look at his teaching on this again. Perhaps he himself was only in Illumination

perhaps, or perhaps since you aren’t Orthodox, you aren’t his intended audience (which is true for all theology. John Piper is a Protestant academic, someone like me isn’t necessarily his intended audience).

I am a lot more Orthodox than the many cradle Orthodox in your church! It is about spiritual stature.

someone who is truly Orthodox would never make that last statement. there is no Orthodoxy outside of the Orthodox Church.

@ArmyMatt I have just come across this again after the fallout of the move and would not mind picking up where it was left off.

During the discussion, I notice that although I was vey clear about what I understood as Theosis, which party transported itself to the west under the banner of entire sanctification or a sinless state the same as which Adam was in before the fall, you did not do like wise and I seemed to have squeeze everything out from you and you failed to give references to what you claimed.

So now, would you care to give me your understanding of what Theosis means clearly and precisely so that someone as ignorant as myself can grasp?
