Here are some inspirational buildings I found during a recent precedence study:

3.jpg

Was looking into green walls and green roofs, and thought this design was interesting. The glass building to the right is also really cool. =)

17.jpg

I love buildings that are mostly made of glass and almost appear to be floating, especially in regards to the structural system. This building also has a subtle, warm color palette that seems to compliment the surroundings.

24.jpg

Some buildings invoke a feeling of verticality and make great use of curvilinear geometry.

25.jpg
Wasn't part of the study, but I love modern-themed school buildings. This one enforces a feeling of stability and order, and the warm palette is contrasted well with the greyish / light-blue color (which identifies the structural system).

Okay! Third picture is my absolute favorite. I love the windows, the curve of the building. I also like the separators between the windows, that's kind of a neat concept. I'm assuming it's to block the sun? But it looks nifty.

Second favorite is actually all the rest. I love all of them. I loveee the greenery on the one building, I love all the windows on the 2nd photo, so gorgeous. I also love the modern theme of the school building. I like how the roof comes out further giving the windows good coverage from the sun. :)

Yeah, the 3rd building is pretty cool. =) The shading devices on the roof don't really seem necessary, but do add interest to the overall design. The vertical separators are probably to help reduce sunlight that enters the building; you don't see shading devices like that too often.

Those are really interesting, I love the 3rd image especially. =) I'm not sure if the buildings in the first picture really exist, but the design reminds me of the Seattle Central Library, which is based off hyper-rationalism:

Hmm Im not so sure about that first picture but I know for sure the second one exist because I saw the location of it.

And I'm glad you like the third picture! :) I love how creative it is. It looks like a ship or something.

Yeah it does look like a ship lol. =P One thing I love about modern buildings, especially elongated ones, is that they look like space ships that are about to take off - very cool designs.

Soon I'll share some pictures of places I visited during my studio tours.

@SweetCarolina Sure! I have hundreds, but here are a few buildings and interiors from various tours:

This modern building features a transformable stage, which allows for hosting all sorts of shows and events. The interior also has light wells which introduce natural lighting, and the exterior is made of aluminum rods which is really cool. The only problem with the design is that the elevators are left exposed on the outside of the building, and weren't working when we visited (due to the cold weather lol).

Yeah, the chandelier is very cool. =) We weren't allowed to take photos of the stage at the time because they were setting up for a show, but instead everyone admired and took pictures of the chandelier instead lol.

This was a chapel we visited, which I believe was inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright. The architect gave attention to detail to just about everything, even the light fixtures, the exterior benches you sit on and the way natural lighting entered the building.

What state is this one in? There's one in Arkansas very similar to this that I'd love to visit.

The pictures are beautiful so I know seeing this in person is just breathtaking!

Yeah, it was definitely a gorgeous building. =) This one was located in Texas; I really loved the lighting and the small details hidden throughout the design, you could tell the person who designed it really poured his heart into the project.

I absolutely love the building next to the water. :bigeye: If I were going to work somewhere, it would definitely be a place like that. That would be a nifty place to be every day, would make me like my job more. haha

And okay that last building is super cute. :D Is it a home or place of business?

ETA: I totes saw what you did there. I didn't go unnoticed. :p :satisfied:
