  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

My dog is an adult boy dog, so I'm hoping getting a female that is his size or a little smaller (or maybe a little larger) would be a good idea. :)
Haha he looks very inquisitive! :D

Since you already have a male dog, any female dog would be perfect.

My dog watches things we do and tries to do it herself. Eventually, she learned to do many things this way like opening/unlocking doors. Self-taught dog, really amazing and I miss her so much. I think her breed is most related to Belgian Malinois with the intelligence of German Shepherd.

This is in a grocery parking lot but I would love to go back to the beach and get to feed these awesome birds. Seagulls are so smart! But they will steal your food in a heartbeat. haha

Hey does anyone like marine life? Like Dolphins, Manatees, Sharks, etc? :)

Does anyone else have alternative nicknames for their pet friendlies? I miss our Sassy dog. She lived across the street from us when she was first born, and every time she got out she would run over to our house and want to play. It was like she was destined to become ours. Then after time, the couple who owned her got a divorce and she ended up being given to us. That was a smart dog. She could open and close the door by herself, and was just an all around "uni-dog". Then one night she disappeared. I think I'm partly to blame because every night when I would come home from work, I would open the window and wake her up by saying stuff like, "Wakey wakey Sassy dog!" She probably got annoyed to the point where she let someone she knew just take her one night. At least I think that's what happened to her. Maybe I'll try to find a picture of her later.

I love rodents and other very small furry creatures. That makes us anti-cat anti-dog around here because they are so anti-rodent. Then again, if brought out a capybara that might make the cat think twice.

Currently I only have one dog. I'm an animal person so I like almost all animals, although I highly prefer rabbits over dogs or cats as a pet. Unfortunately where I live now there aren't any rabbit savvy veterinarians, and as a result my last two rabbits died of problems that were treatable but the vet didn't know how to treat them. So until I find a rabbit savvy vet, I'm not getting any more rabbits, makes me sad but it's for the best.
I do like my dog, it's unusual that I ended up with a Rough Collie because I had never really liked the breed, but long story short, an Afghan Hound breeder had come into possession of her and gave her to me for free. To my surprise, her personality and behavior are almost exactly what I've always wanted in a dog!

Tasha is gorgeous! I had a long haired collie mix named Shadow and he was one of the best dogs I ever had. Definitely the best behaved one I've ever had!

Awww Dusty and Alvin were so cuteee! I would love to try again with having rabbits. I've just never been good at keeping them. But then again I was really young when I had them. But now I've learned there are all sorts of breeds and types of rabbits. I will have to research them and maybe find one that would go well with my lifestyle.

When I visit places like the Wild Animal park here in San Diego my favorite animal to see is baby elephants.
I was fortunate enough to go there a few years ago when they had a lot of new ones born. :)

Aww thats so sweet!!

We have something called the drive thru zoo and I'll post some pictures of that soon. I got to pet Zebras, Buffalo, and all sorts of things. Mostly you could just feed everything, they didnt want to be petted. But there was a Zebra who really like being loved on. lol

There's a place in Arizona that is pretty cool. I've gone there a couple of times. It's called Out of Africa and features an amazing collection of animals in very interactive enclosures. They have a drive-thru tour in a huge enclosure in which you ride in their open vehicles and feed different animals that come up to the vehicle. Giraffes were my favorite. Very sweet disposition.

They also have a time of day in which they feed all of the meat eaters and you can follow the meat truck and watch them toss meat to lions, tigers, wolves, hyenas, etc. The hyenas were plain old creepy to observe.

They also had a huge pool with stadium seating where they put on a show with tigers playing in the water with balls and stuff. Very entertaining.

That looks amazing!
We don't really have zoo's like that up here. But it's good to know I don't have to cross an ocean to see something similar to an African safari.
