The awkward moment when you do a job make these decisions which are part of YOUR job and this other co-worker butts in and says no thats not your role thats MY job. But its not and they dont actually have a clue of what you need to do in Your job.

That awkward moment when you forget the car is still in reverse and you accelerate. Thankfully no one was behind me. My Mom, who was with me, laughed until she cried and the man in the parking lot...will have stories to tell when he gets home. His face.....:ahah:

I happened upon an elderly friend outside on of my thrift store haunts this afternoon. The following conversation ensued:

Friend: Hello, Hawthorne!
Hawthorne: Hello, Friend; it's been a while!
Friend: Oh! Is that your woman waiting for you? *motions to nearby car into which a young woman has just entered*
Hawthorne: No, no.
Friend: That's a pretty girl!
Hawthorne: ...I've never seen her before...
Friend: You know, there's a Nicaraguan lady that's interested in me...
Hawthorne: Oh, yes? (I'd heard.)
Friend: She's wanting me to bring her into the country...
Hawthorne: Oh, really?
Friend: ... to get... hitched.
Hawthorne: Oh, my! ^_^
Friend: 'Course there was also that nineteen-year-old Nicaraguan girl that had a shine for me...*
Hawthorne: ........ (I'd also heard about this shortlived flame)
Friend: She wanted to get married, too.
Hawthorne: Ah, ha.
Friend: But that all changed. Thought I was too... controlling.
Hawthorne: Ah, hmm... (It was at this point the subject changed.)

* He's not a creep, honestly; no one was sure what was up with this situation.

I was thinking they were luring him in to bilk him for money. It's a common enough scam.

That awkward moment when...

You are lost in thought and thus don't notice that you have been failing to put in a screw (for at least a minute) because your driver is in reverse. But you just keep at it and until your very amused father asks if "it may work better if you change the direction?"

Lost all my handyman's street cred. :234:

That awkward moment when saying goodbye to someone..... "It was nice to meet you".... then after you say it, you realize...... you've met this person a time or two before.

In my defense I did meet a lot of new actors in our crew for this new movie so being dog tired......... it just happened. :| Thats my story and Im stickin to it....... if that doesn't work Im just bad with names..... and faces.....

Although, apparently I am like the real life Tim Taylor..... Cant remember names or faces.... but I remember cars apparently...... cause... when they got into the Challenger to leave...... I remembered meeting them before. :sorry:

That awkward moment when you reinstall one of your old favorite first person shooter's on your computer, you're doing really really good and are like "wow I'm still good at this game!" - only to realize after about 15-20 minutes of playing you've been playing against bots :D :ahem:

Have you ever had that moment where you know you know someone, but you're not sure where you know them from. So do the whole "Hi, how are you so and so" dance, only to realise you only know them because they're been unusually forthcoming about themselves on an internet forum and actually have no idea who you are?

Or maybe they do, but they're stuck in the same overly polite greetings dance whilst their brain desperately tries to find your face in their catalogue of known individuals.

In hind sight a simple "I'm from Forum too, I recognised you from your frequent posting of selfies and Ma La Sichuan dishes" would have avoided all the awkwardness.

Interestingly, I organised a forum meet in London a few years ago. About thirty of us showed up - and this was before selfies were big or even 'the done thing'. And out of those thirty people I guessed maybe 28 of them correct, with no images to go by.

A couple of them were worlds apart from how they appeared on the forum (I was apparently one myself), but for the most part, they were quite easy to predict.

That awkward moment when you're denied the rest of your break because of a "staff meeting", only to hand them a notice of resignation after the fact.

That was my last straw. What happens if I got hurt at work and I am forced to say that I didn't take all of my breaks that day? I would be denied a claim, legally. Management no longer has any interest in my safety or rightful claims.

Yikes. they aren't legally allowed to deny you a break, are they? I know at my work, breaks are mandated by law.
