  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Ted Cruz rails against Anheuser-Busch for stonewalling his probe of partnership with Dylan Mulvaney

So is every billboard on the highway. That's why it's important that alcohol companies shouldn't create ads that target children.
Cruz is going to run out of paper with all of the subpoenas he’ll need.

They don’t merely provide ad time. They name their products after alcoholic beverages and insert alcohol branding into the game space.

Three of the official corporate sponsors of nascar are alcohol producers.

One race is named after a beer:

Annheiser-Busch is the official beer sponsor of the NFL and the primary sponsor of the “NFL Draft presented by Bud Light”

AB has a similar deal with NBA where Mich Ultra ads will be displayed on the physical court:
Are you suggesting that companies and charities that are sponsored by alcohol companies should be held accountable for the content of the advertisements of their sponsors?

That would be quite a stretch.

And billboard companies insert alcohol branding along road space. What's your point?

What's the difference?
If a renter (of an apartment, say) decides that they’d like to display a Pride flag from their balcony and it causes a ruckus, the renter is the center of attention, not the landlord.

In the case of a billboard company, they are subject to public accommodation-laws as well, so that they cannot be held liable for ads that others have paid them to display.

My point is that Cruz is a bigot for alleging that Bud Light is improperly marketing to kids by signing an endorsement deal with an adult trans celebrity while not expressing similar concerns over marketing to kids via endorsement deals with professional sports. The association of transgenderism with threats to children is nothing but hateful propaganda.

The landlord can be the center of attention. If I had a problem with the behavior of a fellow tenant in an apartment complex; the landlord would be the first person that I would call.

Yes they can. I can boycott a billboard company just as easily as I can boycott a beer company.

No he's not.

What's wrong with reviewing Busch's demographics concerning that ad?

I have no problem with a broad examination of their practices. I do have a problem with Cruz’ grandstanding that’s intended to push the lie that trans people are a threat to children.

Ignoring him won't make him stop.
Perhaps not, but if I’m ignoring him, I won’t be actively aware of whatever cockamamie thing he’s up to, at a given point.

Perhaps if such a strong connection hadn't been formed between trans and children, the perceived threat would be less palpable. These days trans and children seems to go together like bread and butter.

When did he say that? Do you have a link; or did you just make that up?
