Hi! Last summer I wrote two icons after taking an iconography course with my mum. I wrote two of the same icons of the archangel Gabriel. I'm not sure if I really like the style, but I'm going to try some more soon. They were still wet with holy water on them!

Wow, I had a blast looking at all of the beautiful icons posted in this thread.
Glad to see that we have so many artistically gifted brothers and sisters on this site.

This is the first Icon that I painted, based on an icon printed in a book titled "A Brush with God" by Peter Pearson. I would also recommend this book for anyone wishing to begin creating icons as it is very practical but also covers the raw simple basics of icon history and theology.

This is my first icon I painted at the height of my faith, I was full of inspiration. I think soon enough I will start my second one, it has been many months since this piece.

I keep it in my room and every time I look at it, I am reminded of the strong and patient faith that is possible to attain by living a life in Christ.

Thank you for sharing your icons, I have seen some of them before on the internet. You guys must be very very experienced as your technical skill is amazing and a delight to view.

I take no credit for the icon I created and will not associate my name with it.

I studied intensively with Peter Pearson for a sum total of 3 years. I painted with him for 3 hours once a week, every week during that period.

Peter taught me ALOT about iconography in those 3 years.
