• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

 Kath. We do like to hear you talk, m'dear. And anyway, that's what we're here for! To listen and to empathise. And that's what this thread is here for! (wasn't I just recently reminded of that myself? )

Bec  how're you doing?

Ari  Are you okay?? And thank you for the verse ... I've actually got a tshirt with that on it ... I really ought to memorise it.

How are you tonight??
I'm not doing the best :(. But sadly I'll live.

Mom and dad are both home today because of all the snow we are getting. and we are not getting along. Dad is making me eat too.

And I really don't feel well today. I blacked out yesterday. my chest hurts. I'm dizzy. and lightheaded. And I'm to shaky to knit (for those of you who know me you know how big a deal that is for me). I want to go out and take photos (also a big deal to me) but I can't focus, or hold my hands still enough. I thought about just going back to bed, but my room is too cold to sleep.

How is everyone else?

 Bethany. I'm glad that your dad is making you eat ... well, no, I'm glad that you're eating, but parents just don't always go about it the right way. So I'm sorry if he's being stupid about it. But it IS good that you're eating. If you ate more consistantly, the shakiness and dizziness and blackouts would go away. And you'd be able to stay warmer. But being too shaky to knit ... that's bad, sweetie. What have you had to eat today? (Try to eat low sugar things, but high in carbs and protein, if you can.)
And have you tried the heat on your chest?? Do that morning and night for 15 minutes, for about a month, and it should go away. At least, that's what my doc told me, and I'm 99.9% sure that it's the same thing.

 Littlevoice. I'm doing better now, thanks. It scared me a little though ..... .........

I am terrified to eat. How silly is that. I'm scared to eat. I know that eating would make me feel better... but I just can't get myself to :(. I haven't had anything to eat today, and I really didn't eat yesterday. I'm just... *sigh* not ok. I'm really stressed. I haven't tried heat yet, I will tho. I am tired of being so sick.

 Bethany. I understand the fear to eat ... but it is an irrational fear. The food isn't going to hurt you. I promise. It won't make you fat, it won't injure you, it's not the enemy.

But I know that even if your heart knows these things, your head will tell you differently. This is why you need to get some help, because no one who is not a professional can really offer the help that you need.

I'm discovering the old habit of not eating enough at proper times and then wanting to binge (okay, okay, binge for me means eating normally, but still ...). So I'm fighting that today. Ugh. Feel like a pig.
