• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

I'd like to add this link for those in the UK who need information about drugs, are worried about their own drug use or someone else's...

http://www.talktofrank.com/home_html.aspx

'Talk to Frank' is also an excellent online resource for general information about drugs.

As a Christian forum I am surprised to see no mention of Teen Challenge. I have seen on some other sights where people call it a cult and say beware. To me that is hogwash. I am a graduate (Appalachian Teen Chalenge 5-3-00) and I have seen what God can do. Any questions pm me. God Saved my soul and my life through this program.

My name is Jake Carter, I'm 23 years old and I wanted to tell you all about the place God has used to save and change my life. It is called In Triumph, its a non profit program, there is no cost for admission and it is open to anyone from the ages of 18-24. I am not bashing or coming against Teen challenge or the work they do! I just want you to know a little about In Triumph and how it has helped me. I have been in many drug and alcohol programs in my young life and have seen the wrong approach taken towards my addiction! In Triumph is a different type of program that offers true results and true freedom. It is a home based program that offers biblical studies and a loving environment. You are not just another addict here and you will not be taught anything here but the truth. I live here with my Pastor and his family with the other guys in the program and have been growing here for almost two years. I feel like I have hope in my life because of the way the Lord has used this program to radically change my life. I am in leadership at In Triumph and I want to invite you to join me here! I wish I could tell you how grateful I am that I found this place in a time where I really needed a place to go. They opened their doors to me and my life will never be the same.

Sincerely, Jake Carter

Today,

Many Christians believe that they have to have some kind of program to help them quit drinking or misusing drugs. However, the truth is that the Bible teaches no such thing. As a matter of fact, the Bible speaks against copying non-Christians by doing things like developing programs to overcome "addictions".

I'm a Christian preacher who has over 23 years "clean and sober". Over the years, I have learned a lot about "addictions" and programs from the Bible, research, personal experience, and talking to others.

I have created a new blog where people (especially Christians) can ask me questions and get simple answers about "addictions" and "programs" and what the Bible really has to say about these things.

God has a very powerful shortcut to overcoming any addiction, and it's free!

So feel free to visit my new blog and ask a question or make a comment. However, you will only find one short blog post there until someone begins to communicate with me.

Once people begin to ask questions and make comments, I will begin to write more posts that many can read and learn from. So here a link to my blog titled THE CHRIST PAPERS: The Truth about Addictions & Programs!

Remember, you might be the first person to ask a questions or make a comment on this blog. So don't be surprised if you only see one short post titled The Truth and True Freedom.

So help me get the ball rolling by being the first one to visit and chat with me. I look forward to hearing from you. :)
