The last weeks I have felt that I maybe have stopped seeking God in the same way or living as close to Him as I used to, and instead I dwell in the happiness He has brought me and almost forget that He is he one I got all my blessings from. Anyone got tips on how to continue to stay close to God, now that I feel that I have a life that is worth living, and even feel that life is good? Does it simply take more work?

Dear Bellicus. Keep remembering that Satan always targets those who love the Lord. Keep telling him that you know his tricks, and he has no chance with his lies. Tell him you are the Lord`s and keep repeating it. Also keep telling him that you have no fear of a vanquished foe. If you feel you need the Lord`s help, Bellicus, pray for it, and stand your ground. Satan will flee, when he sees your trust in Jesus. Greetings from Emmy, your sister in Christ.

You shouldn't feel guilty for being able to live your life, and not be in a desperate or frantic search for God. Just know who you are and where you come from, and enjoy this time God has allowed you between your trials. Remember what ever you do whether it be in prayer or taking full advantage of the "good times" Do it to the glory of God.

If you still struggle with a need to do more, then ask God to show you balance in your relationship with him.

The bible has the answer:

Think back on those early days when you first learned about Christ. Remember how you remained faithful even though it meant terrible suffering. Sometimes you were exposed to public ridicule and were beaten, and sometimes you helped others who were suffering the same things. You suffered along with those who were thrown into jail, and when all you owned was taken from you, you accepted it with joy. You knew there were better things waiting for you that will last forever.

So do not throw away this confident trust in the Lord. Remember the great reward it brings you! Patient endurance is what you need now, so that you will continue to do God’s will. Then you will receive all that he has promised.

“For in just a little while,
the Coming One will come and not delay.
And my righteous ones will live by faith.
But I will take no pleasure in anyone who turns away.”

But we are not like those who turn away from God to their own destruction. We are the faithful ones, whose souls will be saved.

Hebrews 10:32-39 (NLT) (underline was by me)

NOTE: The book of Hebrews is presumed to have been written by St. Paul the apostle.

I am glad for you that God has blessed you greatly. Remember to thank Him every day, for every day is a gift from God and to be able to enjoy the fruits of one's labor is also a great gift from God:

Moreover, when God gives any man wealth and possessions, and enables him to enjoy them, to accept his lot and be happy in his work—this is a gift of God.

Ecclesiastes 5:19

Emmy: Thanks for your words :)

drich0150: Thanks, that made sense :)

gabrielListens: I'm not planning to turn away from God, but I feel that I maybe are in danger of not putting Him first when I feel that life is good. I will remember to thank Him for His blessings to me, and to continue to be a living sacrifice for Him. I just thought it would be easier to do this when I could see Him bless me and give me some good days, but I guess also good days are temptations because of they make us love life more then Him. It is easy to seek God when life have no value.

Dear Bellicus. Never feel guilty to enjoy life, Jesus gives us His Joy too. Jesus also promised us life abundantly. Share your life with your fellow-men and fellow-women, try and be a beacon in this dark and imperfect world. Keep loving God and He will draw close to you, in good times and in bad times. St. Paul tells us in Ephesians 4, verses 31 and 32. be kind to each other and forgive one another, as God for Christ`s sake has forgiven us. Greetings from Emmy, your sister in Christ.
