And I love the crazy characters yall have made since I've frequented this place. Especially Matrona's numb chucks and the grim, I mean mad repper's goat tee. I didn't know we can hold more than one thing in our hand. Cool.

The weather here is hot and sort of rainy. It started out dreary and I managed to get some yardwork done that I haven't done in a while because the temp was in the 70's or 80's, it rained some, then it is back into the nineties. That's Florida for you, though. If you don't like Florida weather, then wait about five minutes. LOL.

That's what they used to say about Texas, but now all we are ever is hot and dry! At least in the north, central part where I live. I think El Paso has been having record rains lately. Gotta go move my sprinkler now.

I'll spend some time in Normandy and then a few days in a monastery in the west of France.

What is the relationship between Brittany and Normandy? It seems the former is part of the latter? Or maybe this map is showing a smaller area than I thought. I hope Mont St. Michel is on your itinerary (thanks Wikipedia)

I love monasteries! The one I visited is in a canyon with it's walls surrounding their property. As we drove in on the dirt roads, the sunset looked like molten lava in the sky - awesome. The sky (in the daytime) is almost as blue as the Channel above.

The priest monk looked like western paintings of Jesus, and when he looks at you (my children will testify) you feel the fruits of the spirit shooting through your soul.

I love the routine of beautifully surrounded prayer at monasteries. So peaceful and focused, uninterupted by the distractions of civilization.

The abbot is very talented at singing and chanting Byzantine, Antiochian, and Russian style. He even threw in a few western hymns like, "Let All Mortal Flesh Keep Silent". They are visited by all jurisdictions so I guess that's why. He is also very down to earth and jolly.

This maps shows Normandy, Brittany is a close but different region (west of Normandy).

From my limited time there, I can say Brittany has a distinct cultural feel to it, different not only from Normandy but from the rest of France. I would go back in a heartbeat.
