Is what this thread boils down to that scientists haven't ACTUALLY been able to probe to thevery centre of the earth, so we cannot say for certain what it is made up of..only that there are unproven hyptotheses based on scientists knowledge of physics?

Actually, whether the centre is hot or cold, would there be extrem pressure down there? Or maybe it's hollow...a kind of gigantic cavern..??? Perhaps there's hardly any gravity..or maybe an airlock...
You know, I'm holding an orange right now. If I let go, will it fall down?

The Bible supports that the earth's core is hot. The Bible talks about those going to hell going under the earth, in one way or another. Some times the Bible talks of "going down to the depths", or the "bowels of the earth.

Sounds like some sort of popular misconception. I haven't heard that hell is even here yet? The spirits in prison, and Paradise, were under the earth. The lake of fire isn't here yet.

The Bible also talks about burning in a "lake of fire". The closest thing we know of that to a lake of fire, is lava, or in this case, magma.

So? Lava is not eternal. It is hot physical only stuff.

Centuries before anyone knew that there was hot magma near the earth's, core, the Bible already mentioned it. Therefore, from both a scientfic and Biblical standpoint, the earth's core must be hot.
No one knows there is magma near the core that I am aware of! Proof?? Source?

No, they are not. They are mostly based on seismological measurements and general knowledge of physics.

Of course they are, 100%, and nothing but. The seismic wave instruments are where?! Surface. Physics is what? Surface based speculation, really. It is what applies up here. Here in the prison of the temporary physical only universe state of man. What is needed is NOT a 'general knowledge' of physics, but a way to prove that the inner earth is physical only! Otherwise the laws don't apply there. Not at all. Only in your head.

course them bible people never noticed like lava coming out of the ground and used that to figger it might be hot down there.

and they talk aobut unicorns, so those must be real.

Where in the bible does it say it is hot down there?? Sounds like a popular misconception.

Well, I saw in a field once what looked just like a unicorn - on close observation, it was a donkey with it's long ears pointing forward...against the sun, it looked like a unicorn...so maybe that's what unicorns are LOL

Some feel it refers to the horns of the altar where the sacrifices were made. They, of course pointed to Jesus. I also heard that the tree on which He was hung may have not been a cross, but a single (uni) piece of wood, that also in effect was the altar. Either way, it is all about Him.

If there are also horse like creatures with a horn in heaven, whoopee do.

How do we know the core is iron?
Magnetosphere.
"

Show us how that proves what you say it does?? Obviosly, a field exists, but in no way can it be pproven to be the physical only iron generator that is theorized by the in the box thinking crowd.

I'm sorry, that's a really illogical post. What do you mean by "spiritual", and why is it mutually exclusive with "hot"?

Human beings are spiritual, but we still need DNA and protein and things. We still work according to natural laws.

People have been studying the core for ages - in much more detail than you or I know - and I trust that they've based their conclusions on pretty solid research.
Nonsense. They have not been doing anything but applying topside rules to where they don't belong. And cannot be proven to belong! Really. I have looked at the claims. You don't speak for me, in pleading ignorance. This is the place to present the 'solid research'. Not wave and wave that it exists somewhere, over the rainbow!

Why would New Jerusalem be hot??? Ridiculous. Why would the eternal core of this earth be hot?...?? :) No reason. Temporary state speculation. About time we flush.

Did someone mention already that temperature increases the further down you drill? It's well over 150°C at only 10000 metres of depth.
No, they did not. I am aware, however of this. Now, tell us the depth of our experience with this?? 100 miles down? No. Much less. What a scream. How surficial.

That's true --- good point.I like to point out Boyle's Law and say that Hell increases as mass increases, in order to keep the temperature the same:I do believe though, that those who don't get saved will be down there in the flesh as well --- body, soul, and spirit.

Then heaven help us persuade some to take the up elevator.

They won't receive a glorified body like we will.
I am actually not too up on what body they get. One would suppose it also would last forever, no?

Yet another

You are all witnessing the very pinnacle of Creationist thought, people. Pay attention! Please continue... both of you.

Be nice now. You know, Jesus said that whatever you do to the least among us, you do also to him.

Not at all. The earth is cheese. You doubt it? If you do, have you a biblical reason?

Nonsense. They have not been doing anything but applying cheeseless rules to where they don't belong. And cannot be proven to belong! Really. I have looked at the claims. The experiment continues -- the validity and nature of dad's arguments are not affected in the slightest if you replace "the spiritual" with cheese.

To expand the scope of the experiment, I further hypothesize that not only could I continue the cheese experiment, but if I replaced any reference dad makes to "the Spirits" or "God," with an actor from the TV series Barney Miller, it would change nothing.

Thoughts?

Substitute durien for cheese. C Darwin instead of Barney Miller.

Creationist (dad-style) logic: if you cannot prove - PROVE!!!111eleven - it, everything I can make up on the spot is correct.

Dad, perhaps before you ignore all the evidence pointing to the "physical only in the box" solution, you should bring some proof of you own?

Yes, dad, please do -- I've got plenty more cheese.

Be nice now. You know, Jesus said that whatever you do to the least among us, you do also to him.

The thing that astonishes me (and not much astonishes me from creationists anymore) is not that dad is making up silly stuff that makes Christianity look ridiculous... to the point that it almost seems like he is raving... but that no other creationist here posts that they think he is being ridiculous. Instead, AVET actually tells him "good point!"

Amazing.

It is weird for sure. i guess its the "enemy of my enemy is my friend" kind of mentality.

Another possibility is like this... I was in a discussion with a fundie, and after a bit realized he thought everything he said was true coz it was channelled from god, everything i said was false coz it was form satan.
So i said, what do they need us for, and exited the talk.

Anyhow, it may be that he thinks all he needs to do is write something to make it true.

Someone says something on behalf of science that is wrong, i correct it, i dont want them as an embarrassment to my side. Beside the little fact that I actually care about things like what is true, reasonable, verifiable etc.

What gets me, Split Rock --- (and I'm serious) --- is when I see someone preferring --- (that's preferring) --- to challenge someone on something not expressed in the Scriptures, when there are things that are expressed that are even more --- shall we say --- incredible?

For instance, I can say Jesus walked on water, healed the sick, raised the dead, fed 5000 people from a lunchbox, died and rose again, walked through a door, and levitated to Heaven; and get nary a "meh".

But let me mention that God cleaned up a global flood that He, Himself, sent; and I'll get 10 pages of: "say what?"

If God can speak this entire universe into existence, why argue if He cleaned something up?

This was the crux of the Ken Ham creation seminar that my wife and I attended --- (or at least what I got out of it).

If you're going to disprove anything in the Bible, start with Genesis 1, and the rest will be rendered moot.
