how is this evidence that dna used to be "pure" and free of the hazards of monoculturalization within the gene pool?

not necessarily. The evidence shows that these occurences occur through natural, explainable processes.
God isn't exactly explainable.

As far as I know I have; and I'm upfront in calling what I believe "faith" and what you guys believe "faith" as well.

We know you believe that. It is a psychological condition called "projection". This is where you project your own faults onto others.
The theory of evolution is based on evidence, not faith. Those are the facts. Believing otherwise does not change the facts.

ID is and always was a political movement. It was never a scientific theory, and it is still not a scientific theory.
This is what Forrest was referring to. Johnson is the father of the modern ID political movement. It is most fitting that the leader of the ID movement is a lawyer and not a scientist.

Why are you backsliding on this whole faith thing? It really isn't hard, if you don't have a need to feel that everyone believes what they do for the same reasons you do.
1. If evolution is falsified we will abandon it. One does not abandon faith.
2. Scientists of every religion accept evolution.
3. Evolution has no diety, no prayers, no afterlife, no hierarchy.
If you wish to include the pizza delivery boy under your umbrella of "faith," go right ahead. Keep in mind it makes your own faith in Jesus a casual and mundane thing.
