My family and I are ice cream lovers - unfortunately it isn't all that good for us. So, I recently started making smoothies for a more healthy and satisfying treat. (We still love ice cream, but we limit it to a McDonalds cone for $0.59)
You will need a Blender.
Any frozen or fresh fruit that you would like to be the base flavor of your smoothie. I buy frozen bags of strawberries, peaches, and blueberries from Wal-Mart.
I start off with 3/4 cup of Soy Milk.
2Tblspns of wheat germ.
Add the fruit till it fills up the blender about half-way and then blend.
2Tblspns of honey
1 tspspn of vanilla
1 cup of plain yoguert
Blend again until all smoothed together.
I then add various amounts of yoguert, honey, and fruit to suit it to my taste.
My kids love it and so do I - it is very refreshing!
God Bless,
Jeff
