You asked me what evil was, while bolding a part of my previous response that talked about what looked evil, so I was giving you what you wanted, an explanation of what I thought was evil in terms of looks/presentation. I know what God thinks is evil...but that is not what I felt I was being asked.

Ultimately, of COURSE it's all about God. It has to be, at the root of it all. Without God there is no love, and without love, there is nothing.

It's about loving God with all our hearts, minds, souls and strength. Once that is in place, HE works in the hearts, minds, and souls of those we come in contact with because what they will see and sense is HIS Spirit flowing through us.

It's about GOD. Not us. GOD wins hearts minds and souls. Not us. We can easily become stumbling blocks of our own volition because of our own reasoning.

We glorify God. When that happens, ev'ryrthing else false into place.

you mentioned something being evil (images) etc. I was asking you what about them would prompt you to label them evil.

Farouk, that is true. Ethically and morally, it may not all be God-pleasing. Aesthetically it may be pleasing but that could also be on purpose, perhaps to make it easier to love things that are of the devil. But there are lots of things that COULD be labeled "of the devil".

I think it's good to stick close to the words of Scripture as to what light and dark are.

When we get into the more nebulous area of people's likes and dislikes aesthetically, then it gets to be more subjective.

Let's face it, it's a lot easier to condemn mothers for letting their kids dress up like witches to go trick-or-treating than it is to stand in front of a crowd and speak about the injustice of the elite.
