My wife and I went to a historical presentation on weddings some years ago. It seems that the idea of a white wedding is only a relatively recent practice.

This is why I find the idea of aesthetic inspiration from Victorian Gothic - "dark" or not - a quite reasonable one.

From an aesthetic point of view, I actually find a lot of the clothing and designs to be very beautiful and creative...separating it from any moral issue that I have with the "dark side", aesthetically I like a fair amount of it. Not the ghosts or skulls as much but some of it is pretty cool.

Sometimes I like complete silence and segregation from everything...a closet, dark corner, something like that...because there, even though I feel exposed because of very little sensual stimulation, I can hear God the best...there, there are no distractions, only what my mind makes up...so as long as I can tame my mind, I'm good ^_^

You must be quite sensitive to the aesthetic of Gothic Victoriana then.

(Not sure what the difference is between Gothic Victoriana and Victorian Gothic...)

"Be still, and know that I am God."

(Psalm 46.10)

My wife and I have this verse displayed in our home.

Blessings.

I am not really up for debate, but have to say I think Brinny is making a valid point. Where do we draw the line, what is "too dark". I believe it can be a slippery slope for many. Just sayin...Nothing wrong with the color black, etc., but the last few pages of images are quite disturbing ( to me at least).
