I made the case that the word he used should not be translated as "perfect", so please interact with that rather than just insisting that he said "perfect".
Need to be careful when it comes to changing Gods Word...

"5 Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him. 6 Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar." Proverbs 30:5-6

So every word of God is pure and proves true, so we need to be careful and not change or add to his words...

I didn't change God's word, but spoke in regard to how it should be correctly translated.

Jesus was quoting the Septuagint.

Is perfection not a goal to attain to.

No saint will ever reach the sinless perfection of Jesus before they are resurrected.

In the mean time sinlessness is imputed for those under His blood.

Jesus said the word 'telios' which means perfect. What is the issue?
While the word "telios" can mean "perfect", it can also mean "whole" or "complete". In Matthew 5:43-48, Jesus spoke about having a love that was whole or complete, where we don't just love those who love us, but also love our enemies, which has nothing to do with the concept of needing perfect obedience.

2 thess. 5:23-24
Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. He who calls you is faithful, who also will do it.

Here Paul is teaching Christians...to go on to completion, or perfection. There is so much more to be blessed with.
Believers should press on to win the prize of our heavenly calling in Christ Jesus

In Philippians 1:6, he who began a good work in us will be faithful to complete it on the day of Christ Jesus, so if we were made perfect prior to that point, then what would be left to complete on that day?

And blameless is what, with no sin on them, so they are guiltless before or Christ will say ", I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity."

According to who, much has been twisted in these new "translations".
When a Greek word has a range of meanings, then it is not twisting Scripture to discuss which meaning best fits the surrounding and broader context.

1 John 1:9-10
9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous, so that He will forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar and His word is not in us.

According to who, much has been twisted in these new "translations".
You do know that Ellen White quoted from the old Revised Version all through her writings don't you. Also, Doug Batchelor uses various translations in his evangelistic series too. I used to be a KJV only guy but after using Strong's Concordance for years I've come to realize the Gospel can be taught from almost all translations. I still prefer it because of the beauty of the language but will use anything other than the 20th Century Version. It was put together by a group of people whose ideas come out of the French revolution and think that Jesus was a comedian who traveled around telling jokes and that when He died his body was eaten by dogs.

So where did "Easter" come from, not that easy to say it doesn't matter.. It's inclusion is a clear error, not just a "mistranslation". The devil has been trying to change God's Word from back then...

I’m not sure what that has to do with what I’ve said. “Easter” is not one of the options for a literal translation of the word, though there are some (not me) who consider it to be within the range of a thought for thought translation.

The removal of our sinful flesh and thus the constant temptation to sin.

I have to agree with Soyeong. Just where did this objection come from?

I have another comment on this thread.

Jesus said:
Joh 17:1 These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee:
Joh 17:2 As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him.
Joh 17:3 And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.
Knowing the Father and the Son is eternal life. We have Jesus' word on that, and God cannot lie.

Doh! I got that wrong before. What about sanctification? Can His divine power not perfect us, sanctify us? Here and now?
