My apologies to all in this thread and on this topic which I have wanted to remain neutral upon;
morally the land belonged to the people who dwelt upon it…the legal, historical aspects didn’t enter into my thinking.

It's just that in my view, the Jews migrated most heavily there after what happened in Germany in the 1940's, because they needed somewhere to go... And once they were there, think about it... They would need some kind of governance, to maintain things. Roads, hospitals, all kinds of things were needed.

I don't know what kind of government was in place prior to 1948. I wonder what it was like, really... Minus all the propoganda... I wish I could take a time machine, and see why they would need to form a government. But whatever the reason, that very fact made a lot of people mad.
