Hello YaHuaH, sadly, I have little time right now, but I thought that I'd quickly comment on Mark 12:27. I'd like to add another verse for the sake of context, and also add the literal translation of part of v27 (see below in brackets) as I believe that it may be helpful in this case.

Mark 12​

26 “Regarding the fact that the dead rise again, have you not read in the book of Moses, in the passage about the burning bush, how God spoke to him, saying, ‘I AM THE GOD OF ABRAHAM, AND THE GOD OF ISAAC, and the God of Jacob’?​

27 He is not the God of the dead [of corpses], but of the living; you are greatly mistaken.”​

Does that help?

Jesus told the Sadducees, who believed/taught that physical death was the end of our existence/that there was no "after-life" of any kind, that they were badly mistaken, that there was, indeed, life after death, and He used the example of God speaking to Moses at the burning bush to make His point to them. IOW, "I AM the God of Abraham.....", NOT "I was the God of Abraham....", speaks of the Lord's present/ongoing relationship with the patriarchs, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, even though they had died (physically) centuries before He talked to Moses about them at the burning bush.

Additionally, the Lord Jesus used this fact as evidence (to the Sadducees) that there would be a "bodily" resurrection of the dead at the end of the age.

If your trying to find an answer as to where the saved and unsaved go before all are ressurected, there is nothing clear in scripture to tell us. And may I also add, this detail is left out for a very good reason.

Thanks, I understand that passage of scripture and I agree. What do you think of the other quoted scripture? It uses singular and plural. Could "the sea" be symbolic of the place our souls go?

But just because we die and cease to have a "spirit" does this mean we no longer have a soul? Refer to the etymology of the word "soul" I referenced at the start of the post, and look at what the scriptures say:

Revelation 20:13

13 The sea gave up its dead, and death and the grave[a] gave up their dead. And all were judged according to their deeds.

Hello again @YaHuaH, I think that in this case, "Death" and "Hades" (the grave) are synonymous. The sea, on the other hand is, well, the sea (where many of the dead/corpses of this world are .. in "Davey Jones' Locker", so to speak ).

That said, I believe that this passage helps make clear the fact that ~wherever~ the dead may be buried in this world (under the ground, under the sea, etc.), ~all~ will rise again, both saint and reprobate (the latter to Judgment and the former to everlasting life .. e.g. John 5:28-29).

Also, everyone will receive a new body, commensurate with the place where they will spend eternity.

I don't see you dealing with, what by the logic/meaning you render, those that are raised to "lasting life" must come to an end also, no? What did I miss?

Hmmm... How can there be an age free of sin when the unrepentant sinners are cast into the Lake of Fine, during that age, where they suffer IN THEIR SIN, for eternity?

I suppose there could be a "LOCATION" free of Sin in that age, but the age itself will most certainly contain sin and sinners.

Unless of course you are a universalist or annihilationist?

There is no coming age where the unrepentant are EVER free from their Sin, or an age that the unrepentant get to share in Christ's victory over Sin.

Rev 21:8 eight groups of sinners are thrown into the lake of fire which is still called the second death. But Rev 21:4 says "no more death" so those 8 groups do not die.
Also Rev 22:11 says outside the new Jerusalem.

God did not throw an imaginary Greek deity into the LOF!

Lots of Greek mythology got mixed in to the NT. Perhaps start looking outside of the modern Jewish encyclopaedia.

Do those passages make it sound like God is going to torture souls for eternity? How can he do that when we don't have an immortal soul?

Well, those scriptures have to square with this one:

Revelation 20:10
And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

Even if we propose these three are the ONLY ones that suffer in the LoF for ever and ever, the result is the same.
An age where Sin and suffering exist forever.

That is certainly presuming a lot, isn't it ?

Yeah, I don't make the presumption that they are the only 3 that suffer for eternity, but many do.
And as I said it makes no difference if its just those three, or if its ALL the unrepentant. The result is the same:
The Post GWTJ age is an age where Sin and Suffering exist forever.
