  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

What's the Bible study focus?

I've opposite of a green thumb so you are envied.
Acts. We're a few chapters in. Always a good book to study, especially in a discussion group.

Unfortunately not everything survives. But gardening is good therapy. ;)

How is everyone? I didn't get very many cards made yet. But I've been trying to organize my supplies. I put all the teddy bear rubber stamps in one box, the butterflies in another, etc. I have a box of Bible verses, but those cards are more difficult (trying to get all the letters to show up.) I sometimes have to throw the card away (money down the drain).

My mother turns 93 next month. She brews a tiny pot of decaf coffee each morning, one of those two cup pots I think. It's pretty weak and she adds creamer. She has had acid reflux for years, takes a med for it, but it has gotten worse over the past several years. She has to get up during the night to spit up. Lots of things she's not supposed to eat, and being a great cook and baker that makes it hard! ;)
I have gastro-intestinal problems. I changed my diet because of the acid reflux, but now I get so sick I have to stay home most of the time.

My mother lived to be 93 and 7 months.

I go to church. I have a little side ministry. I’m an usher at 71. But why go to all the trouble to get ready? I can only expect a little bit of personal growth. Many pluses and minuses. At the risk of complaining further I’ll be silent. Why should I bother?

Well, you'ns take care! I'll be gone awhile again. Back to making cards. I hope I don't get hit by a tornado. There might be one tomorrow.
Hope you didn't get blown away. The weather has been a mess!

Card-making sounds nice. :)

A little bit of personal growth is better than none at all. You sound discouraged. We all get that way from time to time. What's your side ministry?

I preach once a week in a soup kitchen.

im not really discouraged just need a motivation to go through so much trouble to go to church 3 times a week. What is the real answer, why do people keep going.

Thank you very much. Our local meteorologist told us to stay tuned to the weather all day. There was thunder and lightning for a few hours but not much wind. We had such strong straight line winds several months ago that my heavy bench on the porch was damaged.

I think one reason people keep going is because we all have a need for fellowship with other Christians. The world is crazy, sometimes church is the only sane place we can find. It's the only place where we can be true to ourselves, outside of our own homes and families.

Our temps have been in the seventies and eighties, much cooler some nights. On Sunday we're expecting frost. :( My glories of the snow ended a while ago. My sweet violets are blooming; some of the daffodils are fading.

The violets aren't the wild ones. Latin Name: Viola Odorata.

Our high on Sunday is only forecast for 55, thankfully no frost at night, though. ;) We were 92 yesterday. Supposed to have some good rain chances with the cooler weather, which we need, there are cracks in the ground. Spring weather is weird.

I have a bunch of the regular wild violets, no blooms yet. I do have a bloom on one winter squash!

We had daffys on time in feb. but what with the cold wet winter the redbud is two months late and gleaming now.
my hobby place opened up and I was instrumental in it doing so. But the electric gate still has no power, it was cold anyway. But now so it says we get 6 of 7 days in the 80s. See mr. Capone?

92 degrees would kill me. I'm glad we we don't get too many days like that. My brothers can handle them in Miami.

The deer wouldn't let me grow squash or cucumbers, but I'm too old now anyway. I think our forecast has changed: no frost.

I like wild violets, too, but there aren't any in my yard, I ordered Johnny-jump-up seeds. I love them.

My white daffodils are sill in bloom up front I can't see the ones in the back from my windows. They are way out there at the edge of the property (several varieties).

Johnny jump ups. Light blue. Violets are a classic of culture. Daffodils are our earliest. White and yellow how kind.

What are' johnny jumps up'?

Your flowers sound so pretty. My garden is a mess at the moment. It needs clearing, but I've hurt my hip recently so everything's a bit difficult.

I hope everyone is okay. :)
