  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I have a birthday next month and do NOT want to go to a nursing home! I slept through an appt. today and the transportation service called my daughter. :(
I just watched a video on YouTube about superagers, people who lived to be 100 and beyond. That sounds wonderful if we are healthy,... and they were.
So I try to eat healthy and cut out the sugar etc. I will be 79years on the 18th December, and trying to build up my strength after caring for my husband who died in October.
It has been so cold and frosty, I hope to have an extra sleep in the morning!
I trust you can stay healthy and enjoy being independent. I pray for you for peace and happiness and a long fulfilled life.
Blessings

So you are about three years ahead of me, I don't want to lose you as a friend because I remember the fun we've had in the past (the coffee thread, for instance). God bless.
I assure you of my friendship, I am sharing my thoughts and discoveries, sharing with an online friend. Blessings

Who will share your celebration with you this Sunday, musicalpilgrim? I hope it's a wonderful time!
My daughter and family are coming for our evening meal. Church in the morning with a dear young friend and her daughter.

That sounds nice!

Does your daughter live within an hour from you? My oldest lives less than an hour from me but our family doesn't do much for adult birthdays (I think we should).

yes, my daughter and her husband live just a few minutes away. Since her father died she has called most days on her way home from work. We both miss him as she was very close to her dad. I think she makes an effort now I am on my own.

Went to my daughter's for an evening dinner which her husband cooked, it was lovely. Such a wonderful birthday, Church in the morning, sleep in the afternoon and a lovely evening.
I felt very blessed yesterday.

I HATE this place! It's impossible to navigate. I opened a ticket to get rid of the snow. I tried to follow instructions to no avail. I HATE, HATE, HATE the difficulty and the changes to our icons/avatars, and trying to find Golden Eagles, etc. Bluntly speaking: I'm losing my mind and miss the old CF!

Hi folks, just getting used to the new forum format... and continuous snowfall!
well I have the family for Christmas dinner and ordered the turkey. My daughter invited her family so I wouldn't be on my own. So kind and thoughtful, ha ha, it may be something to do with the fact that she doesn't cook. I will still miss my lovely husband, who died on 5th October. The tears still flow when I think of him.
Christmas Blessings to you all ...
So sorry to hear about your husband musicalpilgrim; I know it's hard when we lose someone. I hope the loss eases with time. Belated birthday greeting also. :)

Greetings everyone,

I'm quite new to this website and I think this is the first time I've posted in Senior Eagles. I just wanted to say that I am 69 and turning 70 next week. I feel as though I'm talking about someone else. I'm very active and fit and fortunately in really good health so I feel about 50. I'm in a much closer walk with the Lord than I think I've every been. I began a three year part-time course at Bible College this year and thoroughly enjoying it. The Lord also led me to a new church last year which is greatly blessing me. I've gradually become totally involved in the church and the different age groups in this church totally blend together and it's wonderful. We have people from different church backgrounds on my course in the Bible College and we just bless each other. Hope you are all having a wonderful day.
Hi Jane, nice to have you here and glad to know that you feel so young. I'm 72 and don't know where the years have gone!.

I really missed the communion service at Church, I went with my young friend and her little girl to the Christingle service.
I was so thrilled when I tuned in to Premier Christian radio and they had a midnight communion service, carols and liturgy, wow, so good. A real Blessing. Thank you Lord.
