  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Yes His word tells us all we need to know.
So true! So why don't you believe that recipients of eternal life shall never perish? Jesus said they won't, ever. Never. But you believe the exact opposite. Why is that?

So, you don't really believe what you just posted about His Word being "all we need to know". You don't believe (know) that recipients of eternal life shall never, no, not ever, perish.

If anyone worships the beast and his image, and receives his mark on his forehead or on his hand, he himself shall also drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out full strength into the cup of His indignation. He shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb.
Revelation 14:9-11

If anyone worships the beast and his image, and receives his mark on his forehead or on his hand,

He shall be tormented with fire and brimstone
Your false doctrine just got exposed.
No, you've YET failed to show that any believer will take the mark of the beast.

In fact, it is a presumption to believe that. Why don't you realize that IF any believer does take the mark of the beast, then what Jesus said in John 10:28 would be a lie?

Is that your ultimate agenda; to turn John 10:28 into a lie?

BTW, have you stopped beating your wife yet? A simple yes or no.

There are no scripture nconsistencies in any of the doctrines I present because I direct people to Jesus and His words.
You've been consistently refuted repeatedly.

You and FG just state your opinion and tag your opinion with a scripture reference rather than the actual words of scripture, then you only refer to half of what Jesus said and leave out the context.
Pure rubbish. No opinions. Just Scripture, which you've consistently rejected.

btw, when a verse is cited (tagged?), all you need to do is move your cursor over the citation, and you will see the entire verse, so you have no excuse to your claim. It's worse than empty.

Example.

“Jesus gives eternal life to His sheep and they will never perish. John 10:28”

I have watch you two deceivers do this for years, and even when called out you still continue to hide your false doctrine
In this deceptive ploy.
Why don't you believe this verse. It should be obvious what "never perish" means, yet you believe that recipients of eternal life can perish (loss of salvation).

What you've never done is refute the facts that Jesus gave us the CAUSE and EFFECT of possessing eternal life from John 10:28, even when color coded for further ease of understanding.

"I give them eternal life and they shall never perish."

So, prove that the red words do NOT state the CAUSE of possessing eternal life.

Then, prove that the blue words do NOT state the EFFECT of possessing eternal life.

If neither you nor anyone else can prove that, the red and blue words ARE FACT about rthe CAUSE and EFFECT of having eternal life.

This is the mark of a false teacher.[/QUOTE]
It's the false teacher who can't defend their claims, such as loss of salvation, and attacks the TRUTH of eternal security, as clearly taught in John 10:28.

So, go ahead and prove that John 10:28 isn't about the CAUSE and EFFECT of having eternal life.

If all this video teaches that hell is real, then good for him. Because it is real.

What's also real is that recipients of eternal life cannot perish, because Jesus said they shall never, no, not ever, perish.

Couldn't be more clear.

So, if this video is true, that OSAS is the broad path to hell, then Jesus spoke a lie in John 10:28.

So, it's obvious that the video is nonsense and totally unbiblical.

LOL!!!

Verse 27 teaches us the condition for receiving the promise of verse 28.

Example.

“Jesus gives eternal life to His sheep and they will never perish. John 10:28”
Nonsense. Here is some context.....

John 10~~ 7So Jesus said to them again, “Truly, truly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep. 8“All who came before Me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not hear them. 9“I am the door; if anyone enters through Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture. 10“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.

Jesus Came that we may have life and have it ABUNDANTLY.... A whole lot of context for John 10:28. And Those who He gives ETERNAL life shall never, no not ever perish.

John 10~~ 9“I am the door; if anyone enters through Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture.

Eph 2:18~~For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father. 19Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God;

And look what the thief does. Sound familiar?

The thief~~

Steals a believers confident assurance in The Saviors act of saving them.

Kills and destroys them in their heart and belief system.

It's never to late to answer a question. But you never answer questions.

You have already stated born again Christian’s can take the mark of the beast and still have eternal life.
Please back up your lame claim by citing the post # where I ever said that. What is clear is that all who take the mark of the beast will be thrown into the lake of fire.

And I KNOW for a FACT that no believer will EVER end up there.

Your deceptive ploy to hide your false doctrine in the opinions of man while ignoring the actual words of Jesus is Well noted!
You've noted NOTHING well. You've in fact been the deceptive one. Not only that, you don't even believe what Jesus said about recipients of eternal life.

Why don’t you post the scripture with the context of verse 27?
Because v.27 has no bearing on v28. V.27 is a description of Jesus' sheep.

v.28 states the CAUSE and EFFECT of possessing eternal life.

I even made it color coded for ease of following, and you still won't address it.

What are you afraid of?

LOL!!!
Verse 27 teaches us the condition for receiving the promise of verse 28.
No it doesn't. And everyone who understands plain English knows it isn't.

The condition for receiving eternal life is stated here:
John 5:24 - “Very truly I tell you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be judged but has crossed over from death to life.

John 6:47 - Very truly I tell you, the one who believes has eternal life.

1 John 5:13 - I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.

Nothing about "following", which is a command only to believers, never to unbelievers to be saved.

Once again you have been refuted directly by Scripture.

My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. 28 And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand. John 10:27-28
Yes, it's crystal clear, just as I said. v.27 is a description of Jesus' sheep. But there is NO WORDING that shows anything about a condition for never perishing. The condition for never perishing is found in v.28.

What is the condition for never, no, not ever, perishing? To receive eternal life by Jesus.

It should be OBVIOUS what my answer is.
No, we don't have to keep following to remain His sheep.

You claim that you still fail.................thats not following. Did you become a goat again when you failed?

And John 10:28 does NOT say, " only those sheep who perfectly follow me, I give eternal life and will never perish."

Eph 2:8. 'Have been saved' is a periphrastic PERFECT.

You have been saved in the past and those results remain today and FOREVER.....Emphatically stated. No loopholes.

John 10:28 is a tiny spec of the gospel. The entirety of Jesus’ teachings are not in John 10:28. John 15:1-8 says yes you must remain in Christ or you will not be saved. God knows we will make mistakes and our salvation is not based on a written law but rather what is in our heart and soul. If our heart has turned away from God then we will not be saved even if we have heard Hid voice and followed Him. John 15:1-8 says we must continue to follow Him.

Abiding in God is essential to life.

Amen brother the Greek word used in John 15:4 that is translated to abide or remain is meno.

Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.

abide

G3306

Lemma:

μένω

Transliteration:

ménō

Pronounce:

men'-o

Part of Speech:

Verb

Language:

greek

Description:

1) to remain, abide a) in reference to place

1) to sojourn, tarry

2) not to depart a) to continue to be present b) to be held, kept, continually b) in reference to time

1) to continue to be, not to perish, to last, endure a) of persons, to survive, live c) in reference to state or condition

1) to remain as one, not to become another or different

2) to wait for, await one

This is a condition for receiving salvation. It is not a one time action but a way of life. The consequence for not abiding or remaining in Jesus results in loss of salvation. Thank you brother.

John 10:28 is a tiny spec of the gospel.
Hardly a "tiny speck". But it isn't the good news of salvation. It's the good news of eternal security. And it's the single BEST and MOST CLEAR verse on eternal security.

The entirety of Jesus’ teachings are not in John 10:28.
And not one person has even suggested such a ridiculous notion.

Why bother bringing up irrelevant nonsense?

John 15:1-8 says yes you must remain in Christ or you will not be saved.
Actually, it doesn't. I suggest you actually read the verse or passage you cite before you make such erroneous claims.

Jesus begins the chapter with metaphors about the Father being the Gardner and Jesus being the vine. Then Jesus confirms that His remamining 11 disciples were ALREADY SAVED in v.3 - You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you.

What then follows is what saved people can only do while being in fellowship with Him; that is, to bear fruit.

Do you not agree that if any believer is not in fellowship with the Lord that they they can't bear fruit? That should be obvious.
