  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

No absolutely not. I’m referring to the early church fathers long before there ever was a pope. I agree the papacy created an entirely different church with entirely different teachings. I believe the Orthodox Church is the original apostolic Catholic Church.
True, the Roman Papacy never accepted many of the beliefs of the biblical doctrines of early Christendom, which adhered with only what Christ, His Apostles and other true disciples accepted; and Christendom never accepted many of the Papal doctrines, due to being anti-Christian teachings, i.e the sinless birth of Mary, salvation is impossible apart from the Papal doctrines, and numerous other false teachings that are not generally known to Christians.

Purgatory is my least favorite. Teaching people to believe that Jesus’ sacrifice doesn’t pay for all our sins is a dangerous teaching.

I think for the people who are walking in the Spirit it’s not really important to know if eternal security is true or not. I think it is more important that we realize this than being divided Christians.
Eternal security(the first promise and blessing to the believer) is the first stepping stone on the SOLID(the Lord Jesus Christ) foundation to advance as a Christian. How can one not see this?

We are not walking in the Spirit, if our eternal security is still in question.

The TRUTH is more important than appeasing others.

Believers never perish.John 10:28.

Anyone who does not have that figured out is not walking in the Spirit. And should not be given a "free pass."

Loss of salvation or maintaining salvation is BLASPHEMOUS to the integrity, character and righteousness of the Lord Jesus Christ.

This is EXACTLY what John was talking about in 1 John. " They left us because they were not really of us."

A loser believer is not going to stay around a congregation that teaches solid bible doctrine.

Can you please help me understand John 15:1-8 ?

““I am the true grapevine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch of mine that doesn’t produce fruit, and he prunes the branches that do bear fruit so they will produce even more. You have already been pruned and purified by the message I have given you. Remain in me, and I will remain in you. For a branch cannot produce fruit if it is severed from the vine, and you cannot be fruitful unless you remain in me. “Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing. Anyone who does not remain in me is thrown away like a useless branch and withers. Such branches are gathered into a pile to be burned. But if you remain in me and my words remain in you, you may ask for anything you want, and it will be granted! When you produce much fruit, you are my true disciples. This brings great glory to my Father.”

He who says, “I know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. 1 John 2:4

For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome.
1 John 5:3

For the commandments, “You shall not commit adultery,” “You shall not murder,” “You shall not steal,” “You shall not bear false witness,” “You shall not covet,” and if there is any other commandment, are all summed up in this saying, namely, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” Romans 13:9

First off, I think we should use some basic common sense. If this was about loss of salvation, and Him sending His 'once' children to the LoF forever and ever, to be tormented forever and ever......It would be clear and precise. Not hidden in some farming analogy.

It would read more like this," Truly, truly I am the Savior, every child of mine that does not produce fruit will lose their salvation, no longer be my child and will be forever tormented in the lake of fire."

Does this make sense to you?

Because John 15:1-8 is about service and living in the sphere of How Christ lived His life on this earth.......through the Spirit.

Any believer who is living outside of this sphere does not remain in Christ. And their service is WORTHLESS and burned up.......and His child enters heaven as , well, a child. Rather than a spiritually mature adult.

Ok if you want to see more evidence that is more clear and precise how about these verses.

When you follow the desires of your sinful nature, the results are very clear: sexual immorality, impurity, lustful pleasures, idolatry, sorcery, hostility, quarreling, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambition, dissension, division, envy, drunkenness, wild parties, and other sins like these. Let me tell you again, as I have before, that ANYONE living that sort of life will not inherit the Kingdom of God.

Galatians 5:19-21

Even now the ax of God’s judgment is poised, ready to sever the roots of the trees. Yes, EVERY TREE that does not produce good fruit will be chopped down and thrown into the fire.

Matthew 3:10

Nothing evil will be allowed to enter, nor ANYONE who practices shameful idolatry and dishonesty—but only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life.

Revelation 21:27

Let there be no sexual immorality, impurity, or greed among you. Such sins have no place among God’s people. Obscene stories, foolish talk, and coarse jokes—these are not for you. Instead, let there be thankfulness to God. You can be sure that no immoral, impure, or greedy person will inherit the Kingdom of Christ and of God. For a greedy person is an idolater, worshiping the things of this world. Don’t be fooled by those who try to excuse these sins, for the anger of God will fall on ALL who disobey him.

Ephesians 5:3-6

Are believers excluded from these verses?

Which verse is clear about loss of salvation? I don't see a clear verse about God sending one of His "former" children to the lake of fire forever and ever and telling them that they have now lost their salvation.

Loss of salvation is foolish talk. Because the Lord Jesus Christ tells us that we will never, no not ever perish.

Those who foolishly talk about loss of salvation, will not inherit the kingdom. They will enter the kingdom, but they will have lost all that God had prepared(their inheritance) for them in His kingdom.

Heaven is perfect, but it ain't going to be perfectly equal.

My point is that if a believer begins committing these sins listed in these verses they will not be saved regardless of whether they believe or not. As I pointed out the verses I quoted apply to everyone, believers included. Surely we have not lost our free will when we became believers. Surely we still have the ability to commit these sins. Please keep in mind I’m not the one saying people who commit these sins will not be saved. Jesus said it I’m just relaying the message. I find your post a bit rude. Why do you feel it is necessary to be impolite? I don’t think I said anything disrespectful to you. If I have offended you in some way I sincerely apologize. It was not my intention. You say those who talk foolishly about loss of salvation will not inherit the kingdom. I’m not familiar with this verse. Where is it?

Can you please explain John 15:1-8?

““I am the true grapevine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch of mine that doesn’t produce fruit, and he prunes the branches that do bear fruit so they will produce even more. I don't believe that.

If a person has ever had a clear moment in their life, and fully trusted in Christ and His person, they are saved. Acts 16:31.

Religion/satan is right at our door to say," You reeeeaaaaallllllyyyyy were not saved or you might lose it, and this is what you reeeeaaaalllllyyyyyy need to do!" And millions of true believers get sucked into the works that are worthless(religion.)

That is why this debate is not about sin. It is about believers who think their works, fruits, service and lifestyle is about getting saved, remaining saved or maintaining salvation.

When is the last time anyone has seen a grace believer, on ANY forum, touting "sin all you want?"

But there are countless, countless and countless people who push works for salvation........that is what satan pushes.

John 10:28.

Your offending His truth. Not me.

Loss of salvation is foolish talk. And will not be rewarded. That is bible doctrine and the truth. Not me.

Loss of salvation believers don't offend me. It offends and blasphemes His Word and chacter and nature.

The TRUTH is rude to your theology and belief system............not me.

Garbage. And I don't even need to watch it.

Paul told us that he saw things that he could not utter.

So it doesn't seem likely that little ole me and you are going to get some heavy revelation to tell the world...................His Word tells us ALL we need to know.
