When I first accepted Christ as my Lord and Savior, I said in my prayer that I didn't think I really understood it all, but that I had been told He loved me, and that He wanted to help me, and that I wanted to know Him and I wanted to learn to love Him.

I honestly cannot imagine my life without Him.

Don't worry about the changes. They start in your heart, not your head. When you have asked Christ to forgive you and to guide you, you'll find yourself drawn more to Christlike behavior, and as your life fills up with Christ, you'll find you are less interested in the things that are viewed as "UnChristian."

Christianity is not a list of rules. It is a relationship with a God that loves us very much and that wants to help us deal with life. A God who wants us to be happy.

I hope that you will pray and ask Christ to forgive you and to guide you.

Noswaith dda Cymru. Though it seems odd with the problems I'm going through to be giving you advice, I quite like what you're doing. In a world where it seems many are treading the opposite path, the fact that you're moving towards faith and a relationship with God is quite heartening. There is always hope, even for those who might have considered themselves godless at one point.

"Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shall be saved"............It's just that simple.......

"For by grace are you saved, through faith, it is a GIFT (like you would recieve at Christmas, it's free) from God, and NOT of works, lest any man should boast".........

This gift you will always have, a gift that will last you for all eternity

It's just that easy, and I think you are closer than you think, for you already said you believe that Jesus is the son of God.

The Lord is tugging at your heart right now, and tapping His foot waiting for you to come to Him.

With your head bowed and your eyes closed, in the privacy of your own soul, in your own words, just tell the Father that you are believing on His son.

No bigger than a mustard seed of faith does it take to enter the kingdom of God, to become part of the family of the elect, a priest, an royal ambassador for Christ. He is waiting, what have you to loose?........you have EVERYTHING to gain.

Here is just some (below) of what the Lord gives you at the moment you believe in Him..

He is someone that you can ALWAYS count on.......His love is unconditional, when everyone else may hurt you, or despise you, you can always go to Him, He is ALWAYS there, and He loves you beyond any human comprehension.

John 6:36-40 "But as I told you, you have seen me and still you do not believe. All that the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never drive away. For I have come down from heaven not to do my will but to do the will of him who sent me. And this is the will of him who sent me, that I shall lose none of all that he has given me, but raise them up at the last day. For my Father's will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day."

John 3:16, "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. "

John 4:14, "but whoever drinks the water (the word) I give him will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life."

John 20:28, I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of my hand.

1 Thess. 5:24, "The one who calls you is faithful and he will do it.

Hebrews 10:14, "because by one sacrifice he has made perfect forever those who are being made holy.

Rev. 3:5, "I will never blot out his name from the book of life, (your name will be in the book of life for all eternity) but will acknowledge his name before my Father and his angels."

John 15:4-7, "Remain in me, and I will remain in you... If anyone does not remain in me, he is like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned."

Rev. 2:10, "Be faithful, even to the point of death, and I will give you the crown of life.

Matthew 10:22, "He who stands firm to the end will be saved."

John 8:31, "If you hold to my teaching, you are really My disciples."

Luke 21:19, "By standing firm you will gain life."

Col. 1:23, "If you continue in your faith, established and firm, not moved from the hope held out in the gospel."

2 Peter 1:8-10, "But if anyone does not have them, he is nearsighted and blind, and has forgotten that he has been cleansed from his past sins. Therefore, my brothers, be all the more eager to make your calling and election sure."

2 Peter 3:17, "Be on your guard so that you may not be carried away by the error of lawless men and fall from your secure position."

Rev. 3:5, He who overcomes (unbelievers) will, like them (believers) , be dressed in white.

Luke 12:8, "He who disowns Me before men will be disowned before the angels of God."

At the moment you believe in the Lord Jesus Christ you get these 40 things, immediately....they are promises from the Lord for you in time and in eternity.........God the Father is waiting, and if you do.....ALL the angels will sing! He will NEVER let you down.

Ahh, I like this list, I've actually seen one longer than this, I like to look at it and remember these are things I have now, not just in the "sweet by and by".

Do a phrase search some time on the phrases "In Christ", "in Him", "through Him" "By Him" ... its a real good encouragement for the person who knows that they are securely "In Christ" through trusting in His forgiveness through the cross and the ressurected life that He offers us by grace through faith.

You don't have to depend on yourself for faith. Depend on God for it. Ask Him for true belief and true faith.

One of the things you may be missing is knowledge. I don't know how familiar you are with the Bible, but you should start reading it. It can be kind of daunting at first, but there are a lot of Bible devotionals and things like that that can help you understand what's going on. I'd suggest reading one of the Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, or John) to learn more about Jesus' life, and maybe the book of Romans to learn more about the basics of Christianity. If you don't have a Bible, it's available free online here, among other places. Another thing you should do is start going to church. You say that a lot of your friends aren't very mature in their faith. Unfortunately, that's often true in high school; I know that I didn't get really serious about it until college, and that's true of a lot of the people I know as well. However, they may still be going to very good churches. Ask to tag along to a Sunday service or to a youth group meeting some time; they'd probably be glad to take you. There, you can talk to the pastor of the church, the youth pastor if they have one, and/or some of the members about the things you're struggling with.

The Bible has a lot of things to say about faith. I guess one bit that might help you is in Hebrews. Chapter 11 lists a lot of people who are commended for their faith; you may want to look up some of their stories in the rest of the Bible to help you understand what faith is all about. In verse 6, it says "And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him." From your post, it seems like you do believe that God exists. I would really, really urge you to start earnestly seeking Him. I know it's scary, and I'm not going to lie to you; God is going to change your life. But He's going to change it for the better. You've been walking around dead for your entire life. But God will give you eternal, abundant life.

I agree:)

Cymru - your sincerity, respect, and joy are truly an inspiration to me.

I just want to let you know that I'm praying for you, and I want to recommend Rick Warren's The Purpose Driven Life. It is a Biblically-based book that helps both young and old discover their purpose and calling in life.
