well the verse you refer to is this:

1 Corinthians 5:
4In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, on the man who has committed such a deed. When you and my own spirit are met together with the power of our Lord Jesus,
5You are to deliver this man over to Satan [a]for physical discipline [to destroy carnal lusts which prompted him to incest], that [his] spirit may [yet] be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.
6[About the condition of your church] your boasting is not good [indeed, it is most unseemly and entirely out of place]. Do you not know that [just] a little leaven will ferment the whole lump [of dough]?

now that is the amplified version.

if you look at the whole chapter in the New American Standard Version:

1 Corinthians 5

Immorality Rebuked

1It is actually reported that there is immorality among you, and immorality of such a kind as does not exist even among the Gentiles, that someone has (A)his father's wife. 2You (B)have become arrogant and have not (C)mourned instead, so that the one who had done this deed would be (D)removed from your midst.
3For I, on my part, though (E)absent in body but present in spirit, have already judged him who has so committed this, as though I were present.
4(F)In the name of our Lord Jesus, when you are assembled, and I with you in spirit, (G)with the power of our Lord Jesus,
5I have decided to (H)deliver such a one to (I)Satan for the destruction of his flesh, so that his spirit may be saved in (J)the day of the Lord [a]Jesus.
6(K)Your boasting is not good (L)Do you not know that (M)a little leaven leavens the whole lump of dough?
7Clean out the old leaven so that you may be a new lump, just as you are in fact unleavened. For Christ our (N)Passover also has been sacrificed.
8Therefore let us celebrate the feast, (O)not with old leaven, nor with the leaven of malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.
9I wrote you in my letter (P)not to associate with immoral people;
10I did not at all mean with the immoral people of this world, or with the covetous and swindlers, or with (Q)idolaters, for then you would have to go out of the world.
11But actually, I wrote to you not to associate with any so-called (R)brother if he is an immoral person, or covetous, or (S)an idolater, or a reviler, or a drunkard, or a swindler--not even to eat with such a one.
12For what have I to do with judging (T)outsiders? (U)Do you not judge those who are within the church?
13But those who are outside, God judges. (V)REMOVE THE WICKED MAN FROM AMONG YOURSELVES.

He is speaking of this man that had committed incest adultery. some versions say stepmother. So there is indication a man had sexual relations with his father's new wife. not only is it adultery, but incest. Two sexually immoral sins. It is being taught here to remove the guy. It seems so the guy will come to repentance and also so the other believers will not be influenced by the man.
