  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Summer

In nature God reveals Himself
Through forest, sky and sea,
In flower fair, in zephyr air,
In mountain, lake and tree.

Both great and small are in His care --
The busy bee -- the bird in flight,
The rushing stream, the misty sheen
And paths of dazzling light.

How far, O Star! Yet God is there
Revealed through ages long.
How near, O man, closer than hand
The God of faith and song.

"Follow Me," John 12:26

"Follow Me"

This is what I've learned
From following the path:
Not to get ahead,
Nor far behind His pass,

Not to seek another road
When there's trouble and travail,
But always only look before
And follow in His trail--

It may mean seeing nothing more
Than another little step,
But if I place my foot there,
His print surrounds that depth.

So I walk now bit by bit--
Not looking for a street--
But just to know that where I am
Is where He's placed His feet.

Tribute To Virginia Tech's Youth

If I fall by the hatred of man,
do not feel grief or sorrow.
I will have the 'morrow
In Christ's nail-scarred hand.

I have been crucified for a greater plan,
That only God knows and understands.
I have been called to the ministry of Grace
The Lord and I are face to face.

K.Peirce
InHisgripkim

The tragic news that came out of Virginia saddened me, and I had to go to the cross to find resolve and comfort. Man's inhumanity of man is a common theme on this planet, and the only way I see myself clear of it all is to go to Jesus who was tortured and crucified on the cross.

The death of Jesus is a clear example of man's inhumanity to man, but we discovered God's greater plan in the crucification and death of Jesus. So it is with the youth in Virginia whose lives were swept away by the ravages of hate in the flesh. I have to think of them as crucified, like Jesus, to make any sense of it. I have to think that their crucification has an underlying, greater plan that God only knows. My faith tells me that God has lifted the crucified to Him because they have a greater calling and ministry to perform for God and, hence, for the greater good of man. I know this for a fact because of crucification and resurrection of Jesus.

Through faith I know that this life is a stepping stone to a far more important life with God. Eternal life with God takes presedence over this life of flesh. I know in my heart that the crucified are with God now.

My prayers cry out to God for the families touched by the crucification of the yourth in Virginia. I pray, oh how I pray, that they can find comfort and relief from their pain. I pray that they will triumph over flesh, and see the greater glory of God, through Jesus Christ. Always in the name of Jesus and for His glory, Amen.

I love to spend my quiet times
Just waiting for His voice
A gentle whisper in my ear
That makes my heart rejoice.
I love to take a walk with Him
And in His presence dwell
To feel His peace within my heart
And know that all is well.

Life Giving Rain

There is a life giving substance named rain
Lack of it causes the earth stress and pain
God may send rain from the east or the west
Or from the north or the south, He knows best

The thirsty land waits for those showers
Just look at all those sadly wilted flowers
Man can make a ship, a train, or a plane
But only the good Lord can make the rain

In Elijah's time it rained not for over three years
The only moisture that fell came from tears
But Elijah prayed and much rain came that day
Greened up the plants and kept the drought at bay

When our land is scorched and filled with dust
We can pray to our God who is mighty and just
He will answer our prayers and send the rain
We will know that our prayers were not in vain

O Thou, who kindly doth provide
For ev'ry creature's want!
We bless the God of Nature wide
For all Thy goodness lent.
And if it please Thee, heavenly Guide,
May never worse be sent;
But, whether granted or denied,
Lord, bless us with content.

My Task

To love some one more dearly every day,
To help a wandering child to find his way,
To ponder o'er a noble thought and pray,
And smile when evening falls--
This is my task.

To follow truth as blind men seek for light,
To do my best from dawn of day till night,
To keep my heart fit for His holy sight,
And answer when He calls--
This is my task.
And then my Savior by and by to meet,
When faith hath made her task on earth complete,
And lay my homage at the Master's feet,
Within, the jasper walls--
This crowns my task.

Some Lost Then Found

I watch them turn away, O Lord.
I watch them go astray.
Some scoff; some scorn.
Some feel forlorn.
Some fear the coming day.

And how this must pain You, Lord,
When they deny Your call:
"Come unto me for peace and comfort.
Salvation for the all."

You died for all; You died for them--
To watch Your sheep consumed by sin
Must surely break Your heart.
Your love does not depart.

One lost lamb attains salvation,
Your heart must beat in love's elation--
Though lowly felt this lamb--
So loved by You, O Holy Son of Man.

On bruised knees before Your throne,
Your sheep do find their eternal home.
And not so lowly in Your sight;
But growing and glowing in Your light.

Your love holds true since ancient days.
The once was lost now sing You praise:
"There is no place like Home-
On bent knees, before Your Throne."

I think this is great, especially these lines:

"Be still and know that I am God,"
When aching burdens crush thy heart,
Then know I form thee for thy part
And purpose in the plan I hold.
Trust in God.

Thankyou!

Trust in God and Do the Right

Courage, saints! do not stumble,
Though thy path is dark as night;
There's a star to guide the humble--
Trust in God and do the right.

Let the road be long and dreary,
And its ending out of sight;
Foot it bravely--strong or weary,
Trust in God and do the right.

Perish "policy" and cunning,
Perish all that fears the light;
Whether losing, whether winning,
Trust in God and do the right.

Trust no party, trust no faction,
Trust no leaders in the fight;
But in every word and action
Trust in God and do the right.

Trust no forms of guilty passion,
Fiends can look like angels bright;
Trust no custom, school, or fashion,
Trust in God and do the right.

Some will hate thee, some will love thee,
Some will flatter, some will slight;
Turn from man, and look above thee,
Trust in God and do the right.

Simple rule and safest guiding,
Inward peace and inward light;
Star upon our path abiding,
TRUST IN GOD AND DO THE RIGHT.

I Wish For You

I wish for you...
Comfort on difficult days,
Smiles when sadness intrudes,
Rainbows to follow the clouds,

Laughter to kiss your lips,
Sunsets to warm you heart,
Gentle hugs when spirits sag,

Friendship to brighten your being,
Beauty for your eyes to see,
Confidence for when you doubt,

Faith so you can believe,
Courage to know yourself,
Patience to accept the truth,
And love to complete your life.

When my life has reached its very end
And I take that final breath.
I want to know I've left behind
Some good before my death.

I hope that in my final hour
In all honesty I can say.
That somewhere in my lifetime
I have brightened someone's day.

That maybe I have brought a smile
To someone else's face.
And made one moment a little sweeter
While they dwelled here in this place.

Lord, please be my reminder
And whisper softly in my ear.
To be a giver, not a taker
In the years I have left here.

Give to me the strength I need
Open up my mind and my soul.
That I might show sincere compassion
And love to others before I go.

For if not a heart be touched by me
And not a smile was left behind.
Then the life that I am blessed with
Will have been a waste of time.

With all my heart, I truly hope
To leave something here on earth.
That touched another, made them smile
And gave to my life, worth.

Within my soul was iron ore,
Unbroken to its core,
But when God set me aside
He craved that I'd be more;
Into the furnace I was plunged,
The flames roaring high,
And pain engulfed me; overwhelmed,
I wished to simply die;
Then came His hammer strikes,
At my pride and false perceptions,
Broken and mended on His anvil,
I was released from the Enemy's deceptions;
Before I was strong, but I was proud,
Not fit for what my Master planned,
But humbled and sharpened by His Word
I can be a weapon fit for His Hand.
