So “God’s perfect law” includes lying about nature?
Every time I bump into a fundie I’m glad I was not brought up in that type of religion as I think that would have caused me to leave my faith when I found out about the pointless stupid lies they want to make you believe
A lot of it would be more rational if they viewed the deity they worshiped as a jerk that makes unreasonable demands and you just have to deal with it or suffer the tyrant's consequences.

Somehow I don't view a being that would sentence anyone to eternal hell on the basis of belief as "perfectly benign".

Ouch!

I really can’t disagree with that given the number of people on CF who seem to think thumping the Bible excuses breaking up families and children who are detained by ICE ( even if people are homeless they don’t do that because it traumatizes the children) and also thinking institutionalized slavery is somehow acceptable if done “ biblically”

Ha, I forgot you're a theist, but my statement remains.

"Why did YHWH design it so that our air pipe and our food pipe are the same part of the way?"

"Well, Billy, YHWH enjoys making us suffer because he's a jerk with too much time on his hands. Just try to make the best of what you got."

Makes a lot more sense than "mysterious ways" or "you are wrong, the obvious flaw doesn't exist".

Hey I’m not the evolution denier. We’re able to speak because of that cobbled together flawed design .
I know you're an evolution supporter. XD I forgot you were a theist, which would mean that I initially responded as if you were an atheist.

"Yes Billy, we do make the best of it, flawed as it is".

Personally, though, I wouldn't consider a deity to have any involvement in how multicellular organisms developed if they made early cells and then just left them alone. Unless it already knew how they would develop, which would make it pointless to waste the time waiting for it to happen, wouldn't it? It wouldn't even help with boredom much.

I try not to think about how God must be bored to tears all the time since he knows everything. As I’ve implied I tend to avoid theology like the plague. The only reason I believe in God is because I basically felt that overwhelming love and peace not because of Bible thumping pastors.

I would conclude YHWH is not benign based on the actions attributed to it in the bible, not because of how some Christians behave.

There’s an old saying , “ Even the devil can quote scripture “. Knowing that some of my ancestors were held as slaves because it’s in the Bible and condoned, still makes me angry that some evil ( no other word for it) people think it’s acceptable

I’ve never believed in biblical inerrancy!

Makes you wonder why YHWH lets people do all sorts of evil deeds in its name, though.

You misunderstand. God loves you enough to allow you a free decision to live forever with Jesus or the Devil. He allows your own free decision even if it is stupid. Amen?

Amen. I call them Trumpers. They're proof that some can live without a heart.

Because that's the way mindless Nature designed creatures who descended from the common ancestor of Apes. Remember that Adam became flesh ONLY after he sinned. Designing Adam in the flesh to be different from prehistoric people would have exposed God's plan, which can only be known by the people of the last days. Daniel 12:4 IOW, Blame evolution.

Jellyfish have managed living without a heart or a brain for many millions of years, despite changing ecosystems around them. I'd say they make for a more poetic comparison for what you are going for.

It's not a decision because it is based on belief, not actual personal choice. That is, I can't force myself to believe something, no matter how much I want to. I'd love to delude myself into thinking I am immortal, but it ain't happening.

If it were a choice, people would be walking up to the pearly gates, asked if they want to go to heaven or hell, and sent to the place they picked. Because that is something people can actually control.

Okay. Trumpers have the brains of Jellyfish without a heart. They have believed all those commercials which claim that Prevagen makes you smarter. Get smart enough and you can be as intelligent as a Jellyfish, they suppose. Ole Trump has been taking it as long as he can remember. It goes with his hair-growing drug and makes his brain look just like his comb-over. He's a pretty boy. Don't you know?

It's the same with almost everyone since they cannot believe that a man rose from the dead, so they can't believe that they will also rise from the dead. Those who wish to know the Truth ask God to give them the faith to believe, and He does.

Heb 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him: for he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.

Did we come from nothing and are going back to nothing? Or is God the Truth? If I'm wrong, no problem but if you're wrong.....

Pfft, Pascal's Wager, really Aman? That doesn't work for these two reasons:
1. I still can't force myself to believe something, not even when threatened with the hell I don't believe in or when faced with the terrifying concept of ceasing to exist after death. Belief doesn't work that way, it cannot be forced. You cannot make be believe in god just because I'd prefer to go to heaven than cease to exist. I'd also prefer to be immortal over dying, but I can't force myself to believe I won't one day die.

2. What if we are both wrong and the Muslims are right? Or the Hindus? Or some religion that died out thousands of years ago? This isn't a dichotomy, Christianity is, whether you like it or not, only one of many possible religions that could be right, and there is a good chance none of them are.

Well, I'm not sure how he expects non-believers to come to him on no evidence and surely, a God worth worshipping would know this. If he does exist, then I'm going to Hell and I'll go knowing I'm morally superior to your God.
He gave Himself as evidence and the proven word of God.
Salt mines. All of them.
What about them?
All the Ice cores and lake varves show yearly seasons existing as far back as 800,000 years
No..you are assuming present deposition rates (this nature) existed. Religion.
We can even throw dendrochronology in to cover the most recent 10,000 - 14,000 years too.
Your circular belief system assumes trees grew in this nature with it;s rates.

Your dates are total religion.
Now, your turn, provide any evidence whatsoever that supports your fantastic idea that some other state has ever been in play.
Science doesn't know either way and the bible and history lean toward different.
Well, here's one example of how we know, let's take Zircon crystals and how they form to include uranium and not lead - from The nitty gritty on radioisotopic dating :
A nature change would also affect atoms inside rock!
You assume everything made it's way into rock in this nature.
Agreed. You didn't address my post though, so here it is again: I quite accurately pointed out that your assertion of Science "Murdering babies, inventing WOMD, pollution, death dealing cars...etc etc etc." is equivalent to someone saying "the bible promotes genocide, infanticide, slavery, misogyny and the widest array of human rights violations of the highest order." because of what its adherents do after having read the bible and based their lives around it..

Science must wear it.
hmmm, this ought to be interesting, I'm sure: So, how do you propose Science and the scientific method "should know sin exists"? I can't wait...
Stop rejecting/ignoring God and His word?
