Hi there, I'm Bron, I am new to this forum, and very excited to be here!
I have been in churches all my life, mostly fundamentalist, but due to circumstances have recently for the first time in my life been unattached to a church, and feeling like that was the right place for me to be. It has become really exciting, as for the first time I feel I have been able to think for myself, instead of feeling the thinking had been done for me. I have discovered that the Church's voice is not necessarily God's voice - He is so much bigger than that, and kinder too.
It's so nice to exercise my brain!

I look forward to meeting you!

Hey everyone! I am already crawling all over your forum, I apologize for the belated hello!

I am looking around here asking questions, I know some of my questions might be hard or annoying, but I appreciate the gentle help and any opinions you have! Thanks all! :)

Hello!

Lismore here from Scotland. I was christened a Catholic, went to a presbyterian school, attended a house church then Pentecostal churches. Tired of going in circles looking for answers. A battered wee lighthouse!

If you dont mind, I'd like to take refuge in the Liberal Forum. For work I hang out in a library and am a part time book dealer.

:)

Hi Lismore, good to meet you! I'm new to this forum, as you saw, and also new to being allowed to think through my beliefs - it's a breath of fresh air! But don't feel I'm going to fit in very well at conventional church anymore, so looking forward to meeting others with less traditional opinions.
Nice to meet you, Lismore:)

Hello Gracie!

My name is Michelle and I am sort of new here. I was a member a while ago, but stopped coming to christian forums (not just this one but another one) awhile ago because I couldn't stand all the bashing that was going on. It was a while ago, and I don't even remember myformer username.

I'm Episcopalian, and I love my church. I've become somewhat more liberal over the years, both religiously and politically. I was Roman Catholic until I was received into the Episcopal church in 2004. Although the RC church is no longer for me, I really appreciate the foundation it gave me.

I started being a little more liberal in my religious views, ironically by going to a bible study and noticing that not everyone interprets the same scripture the same way. I don't think that my interpretation of scripture is always right, and I don't think that someone elses is necessarily wrong either.

I went to a wonderful book study called "Christianity's Family Tree" by Adam Hamilton. If you have a chance to do so, I highly suggest going to the book study.

My political views are starting to change too, seemingly at the time that my liberal views on religion are changing. I like to go to Woodstock, NY for fun. Maybe those liberal hippies are finally getting to me. Hee Hee.

I got my user name from the fact that I am learning to play guitar, and EADGBE is standard tuning. The line beneath my user name is supposed to mean that I'm finding myself more in tune with most religious people and not in tune with some fundamentalists/conservatives.

Michelle

I'm new to CF. I've been wondering around in the forest and am so glad to discover this beautiful meadow. Great place for a picnic and to share our spiritual food. !'m a former SDA and rejoice with all the SDA family that are experiencing a fulfilling Christian experience. For me it didn't work. I had to journey outside the church to discover God's love for myself. It seems now that I am most comfortable in the company of the progressive UMC and UCC.

I've been lurking for quite a while before joining this huge forum, and this seems to be the only place in the congregation section that is welcoming of those that are non-christian, so here I am, lol.

Hi to my fellow newbies, too
