  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Sinners need to be saved from law.

Why would anyone need to be saved from Gods Word? I'm quite entirely fond of same quite frankly.

If you aren't a sinner than you can stand before the law and justify yourself before it.

Pretty sure none of us will be found sinless under the Law. It's just a fact that we are. I'll be the last person here claiming sinless thoughts, or even worse, making excuses and coverups for same.

However, that would be a mistake for "there is none righteous, no, not even one."

yer barking up the wrong tree with me.

sorry.

Paul defined himself as the chief of sinners, after salvation no less.

I definitely ascribe to follow in his steps, paltry as my efforts would be by comparisons. I do however know how he derived that position of fact for himself.

He was quite Divinely Logical in his fact findings.

Not the Bible, but the moral law....

Can I just ask you how do you explain this text?

Rom 5:18 Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.

Correct me if I am wrong, but didn't this offense occur in the garden of Eden?

Saved from having morals then? Is that your final answer?

just having fun wit ya

Two can play the game....If you really love your neighbor as you love yourself take your possessions and give all of them to your neighbor. That's morals!

Christ was willing to say goodbye to life forever (heaven, eternal life, the angels, God, etc) so that His murderers could have heaven in His place. That's agape....

Hence, "All have sinned and (in the continuous, present tense) come short of the glory of God (his love)"

Adam's sin polluted the human race with iniquity. Hence Adam ruined the human race. His life is our life because all of us, even Eve, came from Adam. We belong to a condemned race. Because we are born bent to self we sin, then we become guilty of sin outwardly. There's a diff.

He who does not provide for his own is worse than an infidel. (1 Tim. 5:8) So, after you....;)

I doubt that. Last time I checked they were heading for murderer's lake. (Rev. 21:8)

Hence, "All have sinned and (in the continuous, present tense) come short of the glory of God (his love)"

There are many interesting equations to be had. I prefer to settle for honesty, and honestly, christians are still sinners as a fact.

Oh look, DIVISION, dead ahead!

...watch out for that iceberg. Heard they can sink battleships...;)

Laziness is selfishness too....

Here's one back at you: Was it the best idea bringing a little life into this sinful world? That's sounds selfish too.... ;)

Who did Christ die for, righteous folks?

By the way, it was the law keepers that had him placed on a cross....

I prefer a scripturally accurate view of 'man.'

Mark 4:15 And these are they by the way side, where the word is sown; but when they have heard, Satan cometh immediately, and taketh away the word that was sown in their hearts.

All 'have' (present tense) sin. We can not say we 'have' no sin and be in Truth. (1 John 1:8) and sin is in fact of the devil. (1 John 3:8)

The obvious math in the equation of man is that none of us are factually 'alone.' There is more than 1 single party in the lump of any individual. See Romans 7:21, 9:19-21, 11:8, 2 Tim. 2:20-21 for further examples of what 'man' consists of.

Bottom line. What applies to any of us as believers carries the exact opposite intents for the vessels of dishonor and we ALL have one or more vessels of DIShonor.

There is that within each of us that WILL find it's ending and be destroyed by the same Word of God we claim to uphold.

Nahum 1:6 Who can stand before his indignation? and who can abide in the fierceness of his anger? his fury is poured out like fire, and the rocks are thrown down by him.

Nevertheless we LIVE by Every Word of Him. (Luke 4:4)

After reading several of Setyoufree's posts, he seems to be trying to make a point, but is unable to nail down exactly what he's getting at. Yes we're all sinners, and yes the law has made us more aware of our unholiness. Because our God is holy he can't come near to us because of us uncleanliness and sin, so he sent his son Jesus to be the perfect sacrifice to cover our sins. In the old covenant, animal sacrifice was used to cover the sins of man because the penalty for sin is death. But now we're covered by the death of the perfect sacrifice, so while we may still struggle with sin of the flesh (And Paul states in Romans) we've been given a new heart and nature and have been forgiven in spite of being undeserving.

Actually, tho, Jesus is as holy as God-because He is God. In Him God lowered Himself to our level, for our sake.

I would like you to list them for the record and also the dates. Here on in a PM or something. I was not trying to be dishonest, but as far as I can recall, I am hardly ever in any of those sections.
Here are some thread that you've started in the Trad Adventist section.
