The Power of God in us is how we overcome the schemes of Satan not our own power alone.

Yes, I think he infiltrates the church as much as he can, and he especially likes to lead the elect astray.
Prayer is a seeking after truth in that it seeks after God and relies on the HS who is our teacher. It just isn't the only way to seek truth. To BE DECEIVED, one must believe lies as if lies were truth.
Is this not correct?
And it doesn't matter WHERE we are when someone tells us a lie and we believe it, does it?
Do we believe "truth" or do we "unknowingly" REJECT TRUTH to embrace accepted falsehood?
I say unknowingly, because if we KNEW it was a lie, we would have never believed it in the first place, would we?
Does anyone that seeks the truth really desire to be walking around telling lies as if they are truth?
I think not!
Were the people that thought the world was flat "stupid people", or was it a LACK OF INFORMATION that was the problem?
So how deep do you think that this "concept" of "truth" verses "lies" plays out?
Scripture tells us JESUS IS "truth",
John 14:6
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
Scripture also tells Us Satan HAS NO TRUTH IN him.
John 8:44
Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.
But the VERY HEART of the Matter remains;
it would appear that there is a "Great Spiritual Battle" taking place between "Truth" and "Lies.
And that battle is apparently over human souls?
Consider "TRUTH";
"TRUTH" has no beginning or ending(eternal)
"TRUTH" CAN NEVER be proven wrong.
"LIES" want to BE TRUTH
"FALSEHOOD" CANNOT EXIST in the presence of TRUTH!
Revelation 2:16
Repent; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will fight against them with the sword of my mouth.
You can pray all that you want, but it would appear that time would be better spent SEEKING OUT TRUTH.
Just remember, if the world KNEW TRUTH TO TEACH TRUTH, it wouldn't be "deceived" would it?
You can't teach, what you don't know can you?
When we realize that we don't know the truth;
A.) SIMPLY because we HAVE NEVER HEARD THE TRUTH,
(B.) Because the WORLD DOESN'T KNOW TRUTH TO TEACH TRUTH,
(C.) Because Satan deceived the WHOLE world(lacking no part)
Maybe we will start to question everything we have learned in this world about God, and our minds will be open to instruction in truth.

I was speaking of prayer, the place of fellowship with the Living God not prayer the monologue where we give God our wish list.If one prays to be led to truth, is that not acknowledging one seeks that which is lacking?
If one prays for health, is that not acknowledging one seeks that which is lacking?
I guess it really depends upon what you seek to pray for.
Now the serpent was more subtle than any other wild creature that the LORD God had made. Gen 3:1a
Satan, apparently, is a clever fellow. Do you suppose sometimes he tricks us into doing his will?
Perhaps, but sometimes the clever guy beats the stronger guy, doesn't he?Or stronger?

Jesus spoke scripture...iow's not about who is and who is not more clever but who is and who is not led by the HS to speak truth.Well, that's just it. Cleverness is a strength, a mental strength. So it becomes a battle of words.
Case in point, the temptations after Christ had fasted 40 daya and was tempted by Satan. It became a battle of who was more mentally clever.
Satan had his words. His greatest weapon. But Christ IS the Greatest Word, so Satan was no match.
Since Christ is the Word of God made flesh, Satan's cleverness was no match for the cleverness of the Word of God.
Remember: Jesus' word-s are also his s-word!
I think in the end, though, it's about willpower - resisting temptation - don't you think?Well, that's just it. Cleverness is a strength, a mental strength. So it becomes a battle of words.

Paul was pretty crafty eheheSatan, apparently, is a clever fellow. Do you suppose sometimes he tricks us into doing his will?
I would have to say, our effort combined with the power of the HS. One without the other wouldn't be enough.I think in the end, though, it's about willpower - resisting temptation - don't you think?
Job1:6 ha-satan, the accuser; the adversary; not a proper noun. Angels act only under the supervision of God and Angel's are therefore called "destroying Angels of God"It's Hebrew for 'the (ha) divider (satan)' (who brings division between God and man, between God's people, between the gods (angels)).
"satan" is not a name, you shouldn't write it with a capital S.
Yes, I would agree with that.I would have to say, our effort combined with the power of the HS. One without the other wouldn't be enough.
Trying to do it on our own is kind of how we got our sin sick world in the first place.Yes, I would agree with that.
Lol the band is called Santana and it's named after the lead singer and guitarist, Carlos Santana and yes that is his name by birth.Paul was pretty crafty ehehe
2Co 12:16
But be that as it may, I did not burden you myself; nevertheless, crafty fellow that I am, I took you in by deceit.
Satan appears to mean "adversary", where Jesus was an adversary to the Jewish Rulers and they were an adversary to him. It is rendered as such in a few bible versions:
YLT]Mat 4:10
Then saith Jesus to him, 'Go -- Adversary, for it hath been written, The Lord thy God thou shalt bow to, and Him only thou shalt serve.'
Genesis 1:1 (NKJV)
"satan"
occurs 54 times in 48 verses in the NKJV.

The LORD who has chosen Jerusalem rebuke you! Is this not a brand plucked from the fire?”
