Yeah I pretty much think Bush only cares about finishing what his daddy started and controlling Iraqi's oil fields.

I mean, I'm happy he went in there to get rid of Hussein but I'm very unhappy with his reasoning for doing so.

As for oil, Iraq has tons of it, so if he invades Iraq he gets it all.

Obviously someone has lied to you about what "his daddy" started. What were you 11 when that happened?

Desert Storm was started by Saddam and it was all about getting Saddam out of Kuwait. President Bush "41" had the opportunity to press on and remove Saddam but that was NOT what the mission was all about. (I was there by the way. ) I guess you haven't been paying attention in history class. It may not be your fault though. I am not exactly sure WHAT they are teaching kids these days.

How come Pro-Iraq war people are so selective in what they read from the Anti-Iraq war crowd? Someone can say " Capturing Saddam Hussein is great, he is a tyrant and needs to be brought to justice. THis is victory for mankind." and then say" I still, however, maintain my skepticism about the motives for this war." And people will respond that 'they support Saddam and just hate Bush'. Its all pretty ridiculous. NO doubt someone will take the selectivity statement I made and turn it around back to me without responding to what else I said.

Storyteller, notice the objective and non-attacking way ddlewis86 was able to respond to my earlier post about the addition to the story you posted. Contrast this with the petty and attacking response you gave, providing no response to the questions I posed and instead just attacking what I said.

Don't you think living in inhumane conditions under the ground and not being able to hurt anyone is a WEE bit of a better punishment?

This notion about the war being about oil is absurd. If we really wanted the oil that badly, we could have lifted the sanctions and purchased it. It would have been far less costly in American lives and dollars. This is nothing more than sour grapes by a bunch who can't get over losing an election

You're right about that. That's why we called this Operation Find the WMD. Oh wait, wasn't it called Operation Iraqi FREEDOM. That's right, it was.

This is like rain on a parade for the Democrats. Can you imagine the pitifulness of having to hope that Saddam wouldn't be captured, Osama wouldn't be captured, WMD wouldn't be found and the US economy would tank just so they could win an election. The economy is great, SAdam's in chains, David Kay's report clearly showed evidence of WMD programs and Osama is still free.

I totally agree with you. The democrats just want power back. Even some of the democrats like Liberman said that Saddam being out of power is a safe action for americans. Look I know we went to war because of WMD's and we didn't find them. Saddam used them on his own people. At any point he could have made them or got them from terrorists who support him and used them on Americans. Now people may say there is no link to Al Qaude and Saddam. Bologna! Why are the terrorists in Iraq now killing our troops!!! If Saddam didn't have WMD's he still would have used them some day against any nation he wanted to! What would have happened if we stood back and let Hitler do what he wanted. We would all be speaking German no doubt. A regime that is brutal and destructive like Hitlers and Saddams should not have the right to prosper when all there agendas go to killing people and the like...

If we purchased every drop of oil that Iraq could produce, it would cost less in dollars than it has cost us to operate the war. Moreover, it would have cost immeasurably less in the cost of lives.
