Oh, so now you're the victim?

Here is the false dichotomy that you presented. You did bring it up; and it was directed toward me:

You must see sabbath as something to obey and not as a gift to receive. Have you never experienced the rest of God? Do you not seek it? This is crux of the Sabbath.

Yet the very people Jesus was sent to reject the premise.

so let's talk about the deeper parts of the sabbath then, not the surface.

What are you quoting me on? When did I say "agreed" In this thread?

How can one get into the depth of a subject, in absence of the superficial foundation?

do you enjoy this banter? let's halt this digression.

So should I consider this a retraction of your false implications about me? Are you acknowledging that presenting a choice of either obedience to the sabbath, or accepting the gift of the sabbath, is a false dichotomy?

What premise?

The premise that Jesus actually went to the 'house of Israel'. Most believe they disappeared from history, leaving only Jews and Gentiles. Even the disciples puzzled over this. Paul addressed all three groups but was pretty vague about it (maybe we can blame the translators).

The quote links back to your comments, you may read it yourself if you don't remember saying it. I'm not sure if you're playing games or what your motivation is here. Do you or do you not think the laws have greater depth to them than their surface words? If so is not the Sabbath worthy of discussing this depth?

I didn't bring it up and when it was brought up I rejected it yet

Well you have free will.

@HARK! continues to repeat it as my argument which I continue to reject. .

He quotes you saying it? Or he says it for you and signs your name to it??
- Or he says "you just said this ... and I don't agree with that" where what he then puts in as your words are not your words at all?

Are you suggesting that we go back through all the posts on the thread until we find one that demonstrates you point?

hmmm "read this book if you want to see my point"???

I see a lot of people here posting in favor the Bible Sabbath that are not SDA - is it your claim that they would all change their doctrine as soon as Adventists stop quoting the Bible - saying the 7th day is the Sabbath???

The Gospel with its "new birth" brings both justification and sanctification.

It is the "saints that keep the Commandments of God AND their faith in Jesus" Rev 14:12 - not the wicked. It is not how a wicked person becomes a saint.

"God again set a certain day, calling it 'Today.'"

What day of the week is "today"?

Also what does it mean when the Son of God says to come to him and he will give us rest? What word did he use when he spoke of this "rest"? Should we seek this rest? And when is it available?

You're right that the Bible commands that we spend one day in seven in worship and rest from our daily work. However, Jesus is Lord of the Sabbath. As a result, he told the objectionable Pharisees in Matthew 12:1-14 that their petty rules that they had added to the law were wrong when he defended his disciples' picking and eating grain and when he healed a disabled man on the Sabbath. On another occasion, he said that man was not created for the Sabbath but the Sabbath for man.

When he died on the cross, he did away with the outward form of the law and the Sabbath (Colossians 2:13-17. Therefore, the early church could decide on which day to worship and rest. They chose Sunday because on it Jesus rose from the dead.

We must not get hung up on the outward form of the laws because those forms were Israel's laws, not for the New Testament's international church. However, the inner principles do apply to New Testament Christians.

The premise that Jesus actually went to the 'house of Israel'. Most believe they disappeared from history, leaving only Jews and Gentiles.

This is what Yahshua himself said

(CLV) Mt 15:24
Now He, [Yahshua] answering, said, "I was not commissioned except for the lost sheep of the house of Israel."

But we also know this:

(CLV) 2Ki 17:18
So Yahweh showed Himself exceedingly angered with Israel and put them away, out of His presence. None remained but the tribe of Judah by itself alone.

None! Israel was carried away.

I suppose that you are familiar enough with scripture to know that Judah followed Israel in her harlotry.

In other words since Israel had been carried away; and Yahshua was commissioned only for those of Israel who were lost; then it would stand to reason that all who receive him, and only those who receive him, are Israel.

(CLV) Ro 9:6
Now it is not such as that the word of God has lapsed, for not all those out of Israel, these are Israel;

(CLV) Ro 9:7
neither that Abraham's seed are all children, but "In Isaac shall your seed be called."

(CLV) Ro 9:8
That is, that the children of the flesh, not these are the children of God, but the children of the promise is He reckoning for the seed.

Again, how do you propose to reach that which is at a deeper level of discipline and understanding, while bypassing the rudimentary elements of the oracles of YHWH?

There is only one way to the Father. Yahshua told us to follow him, as he lived in perfect obedience to his Father's perfect Torah.

(CLV) Isa 28:10
For instruction is added to instruction, Instruction to instruction, principle to principle, Principle to principle, a bit here, a bit there.

(CLV) 1Co 11:1
Become imitators of me, according as I also am of Christ.

That's not what the verse says; and just so you know, Joshua was written long before Yahshua was born.
